Funny how the discussion tonight went the complete opposite of what should have been talking about great improvement of this team and how we underestimated their talent.

We actually have some talent on this team - just poor play down the stretch in road games is our downfall.

Let's look up and ahead to closing out the season strong. That's all we can do at this point. It's up to Geno to get his guys to rebound and not to make mental mistakes to cost us any more games.

Still a successful season so far - let's get over this one, as hard as it may be.
Guess it's easier for me to say since I didn't get to see or hear this one.

And since I didn't, I can say that I'd rather have this frustration of letting a game slip away than losing by double-digits to a bottom half team and not really being in it at the end.
Yeah, it's Drake, but at least we're being competitive on the road of late.

If VanDeest doesn't get incredibly lucky on that first FT with 1.2 seconds left, the whole tone of this thread is completely different. Yes we thought the game was over when Will hit the 3 with about 25 seconds left, and played like it was over. But even so, it took an incredibly lucky bounce off the rim just for Drake to get to OT.

Just got home from Drake......with level headed play this game ends in regulation with the Braves getting a W'......but that's not what happened....so we got what we deserved!

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, though certainly did help Drake out. Still, you are correct that Drake would not get this game into overtime without that lucky bounce.

I think you might have the wrong game here?- this was a loss to Drake last season (2/16/13).
The game we would like to have back is the loss at home on Jan. 8 against Missouri State.

nice game for XT - need to build on it as we have seen other players put up nice games (Swop, Omari, Alwan) then disappear the next several games...

but I have thought from the start he was our best bet to get much out of our freshman class - Ron Coleman got a lot of credit but Willie Scott did the legwork to get Xzavier here...waiting 'til spring to be sure he was qualified..
