Could the heavy minutes our starters are playing finally be taking a toll? Dyricus was having severe back pain and left the game early in the 2nd half and did not return. Walt played 35 minutes, Jake 34, and Will 33. Pickett played only 26, but was in foul trouble and fouled out. Only 3 subs played (JC, JP, KB) except for the bench players getting in the last 2 or 3 minutes.

That's what happens when years of poor recruiting classes leave you with no depth. This should be changing in the next 2-3 years.

Well one our recruits scored 22 points and had 8 rebounds and 5 assists against us tonight. All 3 of those totals would have easily been tops on Bradley tonight if the 2011 recruiting class had not dispersed.
Another of those 2011 recruits is playing for the #1 team in the country right now.
And another, transfer-Corey Hawkins, would also be at BU right now and is in the top 25 scorers in the country right now.

Let's hope this was more of a factor of playing on the road against a good team than the heavy minutes played. But this may be playing into things.

We all hope that Bradley can add some much needed depth this year, especially in the front court.

I'll take DSE over Brown at shooting guard. Defense and attitude are worth more than the 3 points per game Brown is averaging over DSE.

so....three of our best players/starters are gone after this season and you see sufficient depth in what is replacing them to feel satisfied?

What exactly has the recruiting class of Crawford, Shayok, and Hodges given us?

Before this gets copied and pasted on another board, I'm not trying to question Geno's recruiting ability. I'm quite pleased, on paper, with the players he has recruited to play next season. Just wondering why that class never seems to get mentioned.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

That class doesn't get mentioned as often because it's hardly his recruiting class. He took the job after the season, and once here, had to go after the remaining recruits in a very short time. He didn't have a full season to recruit, so we don't know if these are the types of players Geno would have gone after overall. None were terrible signings, though. Hodges had a high upside (he was a Wisconsin signee at one point), even if he fizzled out. Shayok and Crawford are still young, but I like what I see out of them. I don't think either will be stars, but both are very solid bench players. For having so little time to recruit, I'd say these guys aren't bad at all.

shaunguth - we who have been following Bradley have seen this phenomenon before -

-The press and certain fans turned on Versace - ran him out and thought we'd be better - once Versace's players were gone we were as bad as we've ever been....

-The press and certain fans (many who were the same people from the decade before) started turning on Molinari even while he was still winning, because he had a boring style of play....all it took even when Mo had 3 years left on his contract - was one bad year - and it wasn't even all that bad - we had lost a good group of seniors (Cage, Rabey, Robinson..) and we were a talented but young team (Granger, Tucker, Tisby, Gilbert, Gillingham - five guys who would have been All MVC)
...and they mocked him, they wrote horrible, unprofessional, personal attack columns demeaning his character and trying to run him out and finally got their way..
..and of course we were again as bad as we'd been for decades...

-then we all know what happened next - a few injuries and one bad season - and someone decided to pull the trigger and sent us to a couple seasons that have been as bad as we have ever had in history even worse than those other bad spells...accompanied by a lust to get a new coach in place as fast as possible even if he had less post-season success than any of the others that had been canned by Bradley in the past 3 decades....
The rush to sweep the place clean led to what we have and people are already questioning where we're going??

-lastly - it's just a matter of time - the same people - press & fans - will turn on this and future coaches - just a matter of time - there's even a bit of it happening already....watch and see........
we should all have been more patient - and even if not after "we've" made this same mistake several times, maybe "we" should have learned from our impatience & mistakes by now and been a little more patient, as I am certain Versace, Molinari, and even the last guy would have gotten us back to the post-season faster than what we rushed to get & settled for.....
we've a paid a hefty price to scratch our itch for coaching upgrades...
