So again...am I the only person here that thinks the video played 7:30 minutes from tip off is awesome and should be the starting lineup video?

The Bulls were possibly the first team back in the MJ era to fully utilize the video intro concept....
I don't know that they invented it but I am convionced that everyone who saw a Bulls game on TV
probably saw their video intro, admired it, and as cool as it was -
then it spurred a desire for everyone to have one as well or try to go one better.

... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!

                Intro video....

BU fight song in background, starts with montage of short clips of past BU greats/memorable moments in Fieldhouse/Civic Center with Snell play by play in background (could be different each home game)...transitions to Stray Cats 'Rock This Town' with short clips of each player/coach in game action, followed by close up of each starting player shooting/dribbling/rebounding with one or two BU Stendt fans cheering (select different students each week to be in the video with one of the starting players) ...

Would be slightly different each game with different historical clips/Snell calls, and, different students in the opening video with one of the starting players.... Get students more connected to the games... 5-6 min max....

followed by black out and spot light on players entering stadium with announcer name call out ... Van Halen's "Panama" in the background

The heck with the players, they can wear their ipods... intro music/video is to help get fans juiced up!

The only thing that I have right now against the opening to the lineup is there's no BASS! It is a solid song that has some drive to it, but there's no BASS to drive it home (especially the dunks).

Tornado had it right with blaming it on the Bulls and the MJ opening in the 80s/90s. It seems that's where it started.

What do you in the geriatric crowd want? I don't think that Beethoven's Fifth Symphony or the 1812 Overture work anymore as an intro. I personally would lean towards P.O.D.'s "Boom" (late 90s/early 2000s if my memory is right) as a solid intro song. It would be a complete bore to have the stadium announcer just call them off and the starting five shuffle on court.

If the players have a vote, I'd like to hear what they would like...

We prefer a good Gregorian chant.

Had to return to Peoria for the weekend and went to the game today. The intro wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after reading this thread. Was disappointed when with 51 seconds left the Braves put up some quick points to really get back in the game and Ind St called a time out and the band came out with duh, duh, duh, duh, duh. duh. But they redeemed themselves in the second half when they let the crowd stay in the game several times. Great crowd today.

Mr. Welk would have been proud with 51 seconds left in the first half.
