  • Intro music

I am sorry for bringing up this subject again, but I have recently spoken to a number of other dedicated fans and others who have attended games who all feel exactly the same way I feel about the new intro music that is played before the player introductions- Cray Button and Put Your Hands in the Air.
This music is loud and obnoxious to many people, and they absolutely hate it.

I can usually tolerate loud obnoxious music (yes, I have kids), and I have never had much of an opinion about past intro music choices though none would be considered favorites of mine, but in this case, I totally agree, I really dislike this music. It does little to get the crowd energized (what crowd there is) and most people are left wondering what the heck the unintelligble lyrics are. And why do we seem to settle on the same obnoxious stuff and play it exactly the same every game? Who chooses the music? It is n ot even original, as I have heard this music in other arenas, and do they realize that other than the players, there may be only about a couple dozen students there who might like this kind of music? I can't find anybody I know or have talked to who does. And before you label me an old fuddy-duddy, many of those who have told me they disliked this music have been my kid's, neice's and nephews' ages- teens, 20-somethings, and 30-somethings (btw, one of those teens had to help me figure out what the "Cray button" song was saying and what it meant).

So what do others think? Go ahead, let me have it.

Those songs are no worse than any others for me. I absolutely hate the whole concept of the long intro video while the crowd just stands there. It's dumb.

Well I agree that the intro is too long.....I actually would be for a shorter intro but louder music to get people into the game right at the start.

In the upper bowl- where us po' folks sit, it sounds distorted horribly. I may not be hip- but what the hell is a Cray Button?
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

A lot of schools seem to be moving away from beaty, urban music and favoring classic rock. Indiana, for example, does an awesome video montage to the intro to Where the Streets Have No Name by U2 (Marquette uses it too I believe). I also recently was watching a game where they used Gold on the Ceiling by Black Keys, can't remember who though.

Don't feel bad- I couldn't even tell what was being said- so I had to consult a 16 year old who is probably the smartest kid in the world, and she wasn't sure either. But we figured it out.
It is a metaphor for the politically incorrect term Crazy-

I haven't liked any of our intro videos.

I am embarrassed when they play it. I would also like to know who the heck picked that song.

Not to mention in the video it shows us making wide open lay ups.... (that's not cool at all)

I would love to see the 7:30 min video be our starting lineup video...there is no dumb song and the video is awesome. The music is hype too

Anyone else like the 7:30 video?

I was at an ISU game this year. Their video is Dupstep

So if you old folks don't like the cray button then you will love ISU's....

                  FTR:

I am in my 20's and like neither video...but will admit theirs is better.

Many good short instrumentals you could use....

                    I Gotta Feeling
What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger are two that come to mind...

DC I agree with you. The music is totally obnoxious.

I'm not sure who decides that, but the person in charge of game day ops just left. Maybe it will change for the better.

I'm in my 20's and had never heard either song until BU games. What ever happened to good old fashioned Van Halen "jump"?

They're hitting some target with the music. My 12 year old daughter loves it.

Well I did some detective work.......

Here is the "band" responsible for this song.

A Christian rock group from Atlanta called Family Force 5.

Check out the members names and their what appears to be nicknames.

Solomon Jerome Olds (Soul Glow Activatur)
                            Jacob Olds (Crouton)
                            Joshua Olds (Fatty)
                            Nathan Currin (Nadaddy)
                            Derek Mount (Chap Stique)

I also know for a fact that Christian pop/rocks groups are not at the top of any majorities play lists. (why no one has heard this song)

Watch this WHOLE video and tell me this isn't the dumbest shit song you have ever heard.

                            WHOLE VIDEO BELOW:

Nothing will ever replace Frank Bussone's introduction of the starting lineup in the darkened Fieldhouse and then the playing of the fight song.
