I am sorry for bringing up this subject again, but I have recently spoken to a number of other dedicated fans and others who have attended games who all feel exactly the same way I feel about the new intro music that is played before the player introductions- Cray Button and Put Your Hands in the Air.
This music is loud and obnoxious to many people, and they absolutely hate it.
I can usually tolerate loud obnoxious music (yes, I have kids), and I have never had much of an opinion about past intro music choices though none would be considered favorites of mine, but in this case, I totally agree, I really dislike this music. It does little to get the crowd energized (what crowd there is) and most people are left wondering what the heck the unintelligble lyrics are. And why do we seem to settle on the same obnoxious stuff and play it exactly the same every game? Who chooses the music? It is n ot even original, as I have heard this music in other arenas, and do they realize that other than the players, there may be only about a couple dozen students there who might like this kind of music? I can't find anybody I know or have talked to who does. And before you label me an old fuddy-duddy, many of those who have told me they disliked this music have been my kid's, neice's and nephews' ages- teens, 20-somethings, and 30-somethings (btw, one of those teens had to help me figure out what the "Cray button" song was saying and what it meant).
So what do others think? Go ahead, let me have it.
