I have seen him play many times including at the Macker 2 years ago (which impressed the most), hope he stays in the area and plays for BU but if he left for Big 11 country I wouldn't hold it against him.

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

In that 2 minute video, Roth drains about 10 shots, but only one of them is wide open.
Remarkably, 6 of the first 7 have a tall, long-armed guy with a hand right in Matt's face,
who is doing a pretty solid job of defending,
and he just elevates and shoots right over the guy.
Watch it again and see if you agree!

I think the third to the last shot, where he is on the right wing in front of the scorers table is the best. He basically catches, shoots with a guy in his face while falling out of bounds. Hes close to the sideline then he is to the three line...he also was falling backwards a bit like AP and Zobs used to do making it tougher to block.

I told you guys he was a must get. I think it was flip that said no, but Matt Roth is tough. He really could care less if someone is in his face or not. I really hope it is not true that he wants to go to Illinois. oh well we have to wait 2 more years anyways. We'll see, but man he is good, right?

Sweet Stroke
That's a sweet stroke he's got. No Doubt!
Is it just me or does he seem to have a long, slow release to his shot? I just wonder if he'll be able to get it off this well in college with a bigger, stronger, faster player in his face. I also wonder if he'll be able to create his shot in college, or if he'll just be limited to a stand up set shot? He is kind of small.

ChicagoHoops.com rates him the #18 player in Illinois in the class of 2008. They tend to overrate the Chicago area players a little and underrate the downstate players.
Other rankings list him between 12th and mid 20's. But these kind of rankings are very subjective.

I'd take a shooter like MR in a heartbeat, just like height, that's not something that is easily taught. I watched him as a freshman torch a much better athlete in Jamar Smith to lead his team to the super sectionals. I know I've read at least one publication that called him the best pure shooter in the state of IL.
