agree with what is now pretty much the unanimous assessment...our offensive & defensive game plans are not getting it done for 40 minutes.
After looking at times like a 4, 5 or 6 seed, now we look like an 8-9 seed...

we try too hard to rely on outside stuff - we are NOT a good outside shooting team! - may work short term but rarely will we sustain the whole game

guards - too much dribble drive & one-on-one - no passing, very few assists from guards....when your forwards lead the team in assists and they only touch the ball 20% as much as the guards - then we need more passing from the guards

gave up way, way too many open looks to the only two guys that were going to hurt us... Brown & Jackie can even make some of the contested shots but they make all the wide open ones - especially when we let them dribble right to the hoop or camp there.

too many totally unforced mistakes for such an experienced group - stepping on end line, tossing passes into the 3rd row, hurrying shots

We need to get a big man with one of the 2 open scholarships we have. Assuming Tucker is going to be eligible we need another big that can contribute right away. What with Will leaving I dont think Nate & Shayok are not ready yet. Jordan is not assertive enough which only leaves Picket as the lone reliable big.

I have seen it called as a double foul 1 other time, and that was in a game earlier this year. Apparently it is possible to call it that way, and it usually happens when the officials disagree on the charge/block and neither one is willing to concede to the other.
The play last night looked like an obvious block, as the defensive player (I think it was Ekey) was clearly still moving to his left to position himself in the path of Walt Lemon. It was a crucial call at a time when the game was still extremely close. ISU went on their run right after that to put the game away.

I was wondering about this as well....also I didn't understand why ISU got the ball. If it was a charge I understand...if it was a block it should have been a shooting foul....very confused about the whole situation as that was the start of the end for the braves last night.

Yes, I agree, and it would have been nice if the announcers could have sought out and given the audience a correct explanation of what happened, but they were clearly in the dark.

I believe that when a double foul occurs simultaneously, the ruling is a "jump ball", meaning it goes to the team due to get the next "jump ball" possession, regardless who held possession at the time of the foul.

I believe this is a faulty rule, and should be changed. If both teams are guilty of a foul, it makes no sense to take the ball away from the team who had possession. It imposes a much more severe penalty on the team with possession, though both were ruled to have had an equal foul.

The call was garbage- we can all agree with that. I thought it was a charge. A bradley fan sitting by us thought it was a charge- but we will agree to disagree on that- no biggie.

The refs ruled that the ball was out of Walt's hand before the contact (according to the PA announcer) and thus, "no one" had possession. That is why they went to the possession arrow. Originally the PA announcer said the ball will stay with bradley, because they had possession. Then he announced that it was there ruling that "no one" had possession.

Again- not saying I agree with it by any means, but that was their justification...

BTW -- what does everyone think of their "announced attendance"...8417..
that's 500 fewer than they had last game, a 35 point annihilation of the last place team, SIU..
It's a little better than they drew the past couple years...but it's disappointing that such a rivalry game can't sell out either here or there...
I guess I'd take that as pretty strong proof of fans who may be lost for quite some time to come...

The ref was right next to Muller, but I don't disagree that it would have been nearly impossible for him to be able to tell when JC had possession vs. when the TO was actually called.

There was a similar situation with Egolf in the first half where Geno called a TO, but the ref was closer to the play
