I didn't recall many BU games like today.

Bradley was completely outplayed and coached in the first half. The incredibly bogus technical aside, Bradley was flat out awful on both ends of the floor.

    Then....

Something amazing happened during halftime. Whether it was Geno chewing some butts, strategic changes, the players waking up, or a combination of them all Bradley thoroughly dominated the second half in stunning fashion.

That 2nd half was so much fun to watch. I do think we have seen a great change in the backbone and character of this group.

Great job to all in the second half. Lets hope that first half is never seen again.

I do love how we don't give up.....we still lack alot of tools to win on the road and play consistently well even at home..

I was impressed at the completely different effort and energy in the second half. Nice job. But we can't completely absolve them for the first half. It is what cost us with a home loss in a winnable game. I want to see that kind of effort every half. I think I would reserve the term tremendous for when we actually win a game or play a complete game.

I think in the first half Bradley had some shots rim out and some calls go against them. They let that effect them too much. They lost concentration at times. In the second half they came out more focused and determined. I dont think UNI ever played bad but it was a completely different Bradley team the second half. They need to put complete games together but it's getting late for this year.

I forgot to mention DSE. The Bradley team stepped up their game in the second half but without DSEs almost Jordan like effort we're talking about a bad Bradley game instead of two different halves. Considering the minutes played and his efforts at both ends he had one of the greatest halves that Ive seen from a Bradley player in a long time. He was clearly the best player on the floor today and put the team on his back and almost carried them to a win.

That was one he-- of a show DSE put on today. Always thought he was capable of playing like that the last two years. It certainly was a tale of two halves,we need efforts like the second half for the rest of the year. Losing at home might make it very tough to stay out of Thur. night. We'll see.

I loved the team defense in the 2nd half. UNI only got ft's and 3's according to Snell

                  Tremendous game by DSE
Tremendous adjustments by BU at half

Maybe not tremendous game since they had bad FH and lost,
but, lots of things tremendous about todays BU game.

Again, MVC Officials determine the outcome with a foul on BU on attempted
steal late in the game, which Snell and company thought looked like a
                  good steal.....

We have asked BU players to show heart and they have. We have asked them to play defense and they have for extended periods of time. We have asked for a coaching staff which can make appropriate adjustments at half and we have seen this in several games.

Everything is looking positive for BU's future... Now, we just need GF/BU to keep adding impact players to the Team in the future...

I didn't really think it was a lack of effort that led to Bradley missing 75% of their shots in the first half. Bradley shot the ball horribly.

UNI only scored 4 more points in the first half than the second, and their 45% FG percentage in the first 20 minutes wasn't exactly earth-shattering.

Here is why it looked to me like a much superior effort in the second half-
Besides a visible higher energy level, all but 1 of Bradley's steals were in the second half, and UNI seemed to penetrate at will in the first half. They got nothing in the paint in the second half (they were 0-7 inside the 3-point line). They scored 6 points less, not 4, and their shooting percentage was 35% in the second half, compared with 45% in the first half- a significant dropoff.

We are not as bad as the first half (shots lipping out, technical, etc), but we are also not as good as the 2nd half (DSE carried the team on his back).

The attempted steal was definitely a foul according to the replay, which shows he slapped his wrist before getting the ball. I would have to say though, that the calls mostly went UNI's way (not by much though), which seems to be pretty typical of our home games (???)

I think our expectations of this team rose quite a bit after beating ISU-red and UE. Plus, we're so used to BU taking care of business at home this season. This was really the first "let-down" home game all season! Yeah, too bad it came at the most important Valley game of the season, but we've had a good run at home with this group that has exceeded expectations.

Quite a few of us mentioned that we need to take 2/3 games vs. UE, UNI, ISU-blue, and I think we'll get 'er done!

Another lesson for this team to play ALL OUT for 40 minutes. The guy who showed the most energy in FH was Geno, but he wasn't suited up, and gave us -2 points! I thought for the most part WL and DSE played solid even in the 1st half.

We desperately need more contributions from the others - TP has been doing that of late, which is good. WE is a big key, along with JE, who hasn't been shooting much at all lately. (???)
