  • ISU at Creighton

Anyone else watching the ESPN2 broadcast of ISU at Creighton?
The announcers are going a little overboard with their constant and over-the-top praise of Doug McDermott. No doubt he is the #1 player in the MVC, and one of the top players in the country, but the announcers are acting like every move he makes is superhuman!

Go Creighton! Knowing we still have to go to ISU this week, I'd like an ISU loss tonight and BU win tomorrow to put us 2 games up on them

It's amazing how the officials bail out McDermott on everything.

First half was very competitive, but Creighton has the lead at the half.
Creighton - 39 Illinois State - 36 at the half.

Carmichael leads the Redbirds with 12 pts

McDermott leads the Bluejays with 17 pts
If you cant go to school go to STATE!!

I wish we could've had a 9 o clock start in Omaha, the house is empty and half asleep.

Nothing new from ESPN announcers and commentators. They hype every superstar from every ranked team they showcase. While maybe a bit over-the-top, I'm glad to see ESPN hyping the Valley a little bit more lately. Even better to see a Valley game during Saturday night primetime hours on ESPN2, which is a rarity!

I totally agree. It does sound awfully quiet there, though they say it's the seventh largest crowd there in history. I don't think it's a weather issue as the core of the next storm is supposed to past west of there. Maybe they are shell shocked at how well ISU is playing there tonight!

I'm getting a sinking feeling now that the Valley will only get one bid. If the top teams can't take care of business at home, there's no way the Selection Committee will even take an at-large team.

Can you say AWFUL defense for Creighton?!

ISU looks like they will win. Creighton can't stop their outside shooting or Carmichael inside.

I agree it wasn't that long ago I would have told you Creighton and Wichita State were both LOCKS for the NCAA Tournament. With this loss for Creighton and Wichita really struggling lately we really might be looking at one Valley team in the NCAA Tournament this year.

ISU had it won, but a big turnover by John Wilkins will give Creighton one more chance.

ISU wins, creating a 3-way tie for the MVC lead between Creighton, Wichita State, and Indiana State all at 9-4.

                            I repeat.....crappy conference.

A bottom-dwelling team winning on the road against the first-place team does not mean the league is solid from top to bottom.

Three teams tied for first place with 9-4 records does not mean all three teams deserve to make the tournament.

???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Everything went right for the red birds and nothing went right for the blue birds.
