  • SIU at Indiana State

Southern Illinois is taking it to Indiana State so far. SIU lead 34-31 at haltime in the game at Terre Haute, and now leads 45-41 with 12 minutes left.

57-53 SIU with 5 minutes to go in regulation time. If ISU loses this, I officially have nothing left to say.

PHEW!!! Indiana State eeks out a win over S. Illinois 66-65 on a Jake Odum layup with 19 seconds left. A loss would have been disasterous for their NCAA Tournament at-large chances, but a win is a win. They still fail the "eye test" miserably today though. All I can say is it's a good thing Bradley played SIU when they did because they look a lot better now than they did earlier this season!

Also, if Indiana State played like this at home against SIU, we should have no problem beating them in Peoria in a couple of weeks, at least if they played as bad as they did today.

Too bad SIU couldn't pull this one out. Bradley would have had a chance at moving to within a game of 3rd place tomorrow afternoon.

yes - the people on the selection committee will sit behind closed doors and talk about which teams played well in the final month of the season, and a lot of talk is gonna come up about how Indiana State struggled against the bottom dwellers...
BU can put the final nail in the coffin

I doubt anyone would have predicted this to be a close game after Ind.St. clobbered Creighton on Wed. night, funny thing is this has been going on most of the season in college basketball as far as upsets , the Valley teams will get penalized for losing on the road yet the BCS teams will not when it comes to the NCAA Tour pairings, the way SIU is now playing I would hope that we do not finish 7th and end up playing them in the first playin game in St.Louis , big incentive to win tomorrow and the rest of our home games.

SIU needs to quit ruining other Valley teams at large chances.

Wichita looks like they are gonna end their losing streak - Missouri State simply doesn't have the horses

You know I have been more concerned with the number of bids the Valley can get, I forgot to pay attention to the fact that Bradley could have been one game out of third tomorrow with a win, had Indiana State lost today. I don't know how well Bradley will do beyond tomorrow, but a win will put us in position to make a run towards the top 3 with games left against Creighton and Indiana State.

Darn you Indiana State, why did you have to win today?!

The way this league is going lately, BU can win or share the title by winning their final 6 league games...

Yeah, I just said in the ISU/Creighton thread that 12-6 might be enough for at least a share of the Valley title. I have to go back and look at one of my Valley media guides to see when the last time that happened.
