I had the game on, I didn't think I would enjoy the end result (expected IN to win big) .but it was a great ending!

Indiana was up 69-59 and 70-62 with less than three minutes left. Two quick three pointers and a bunch of stops by Illinois set up their chance at a win, and boy did they take advantage!

I don't know how many people realize this, but this is the third time in three days that a team that had no business winning won. First SIU had no business beating Wichita State. Then last night, TCU had even less business beating #5 Kansas. And now, maybe not quite as stunning due to some of their great wins earlier this year, Illinois shocks #1 Indiana for their third Big Ten win, and just their third win all time over a #1 team. Don't look now, but it would not shock me to see Illinois make the NCAA Tournament with just a 7-11 Big Ten record and a win or two in the Big Ten tourney. And good news for the Illini as they have several games remaining over teams from the bottom half of the Big Ten, though I'm sure they said that when they played Northwestern too!

The biggest difference between SIU, TCU, and Illinois is that the Illini have now defeated the current #1, #6, #10, and #14. What other bubble team has that on their resume?

Woo Hoo! Amazing ending. Best Illini ending since 05 Arizona. Never thought I would say these words, but Griffey makes a difference.

I have ragged on the Illinois Loyalty board for weeks about TG...

I find it amazing he can have such a good game after days of negativity building up...FINALLY hit a 3 and then hit another

looked tough on rebounds ....14 and 8 for griffey!!!

the illini have shot shot sooo bad in big ten play if they shoot 50% better they are 6-4 shooting like 25% from 3 in BIG play

Not many. Either Illinois makes the tourney, or they could be one of the most dangerous NIT teams in a long time!

Tonight Richardson's shooting down the stretch won the game IMO.

If BU were to make it, what a game that would be! First meeting since the Las Vegas Invite!

I'm still not sold on this Illini team even though they've got some big wins. They've also blown their nose in the conference at 3-7 currently and still have a tough schedule remaining. Very tough games remaining at Minn, at Mich, at OSU.

They could very easily finish only at 7-11 or 8-10, despite the strength of the Big Ten, a sub .500 conference record doesn't get you a NCAA tournament berth in my book.

They need to get to 8-10 because only 2 teams have ever gotten an at large with a worse conference record than that, and it hasn't happened in 15 years.

I'm not an Illini fan and especially with their track record of poaching MVC players I've enjoyed their collapses but I was starting to feel sorry for them. Now I think they're fine if they clean up against the unranked teams left on their schedule, but they've already lost to Purdue and Northwestern so we'll see.

Incredible final 10 minutes of the game (which is the only part I watched)

It wasn't that Indiana had an off night - just Illinois was the better and hungrier team in the final 4 minutes really.
It didn't feel like Indiana was going to relinquish their leads, as they seemed to have an answer for every U of I score.

Classic game for sure - glad I DVRed 2nd half!

I agree - best ending perhaps since 2005. My father and I were in shock after that game - how quickly the tides turned! And the win over Wake that same season was one I'll remember forever too.

If Illinois goes to the NIT, the only guy who will be enthused will be Groce. I'm sure the players will not be that excited about another NIT appearance.
I can see them getting in with a 8-10 Big 10 record, but what are the chances of that in such a strong league?
Iowa is another team who is pretty good, but their conf. record indicates otherwise.
I believe they will be a strong NIT team...if they stay about .500 that is.

                              .9??
