Ultimately the T didn't cost us the game, our pathetic play in the 1st half just put us to far behind the eight ball. I think the timeout Geno took late in the 2nd half cost us more than the T did. We had all the momentum, they were reeling and the TO allowed them to get reset. I have to laugh at the JL/Geno comparisons once again. Geno gets on the refs like most coaches do but doesn't go out of his way to berate and belittle the refs like JL did. Having heard his stomping on the floor all the way up to the upper deck, how he didn't get more T's was beyond me. How we would not get calls was not. It felt like we were playing 5 on 8 a lot. The T Geno got was deserved as per the rules, though if you watched the Notre Dame/Louisville game you'd never know there was a coaches box rule as both Pittino and Brey were coaching from near half court during all 5 overtimes. I do agree JL was not treated well at all by the local media as well as some fans at the end and that Geno seems to get the benefit of the doubt. He keeps up with these questional timeouts like he has a few times this year and things don't keep progressing, like no playing in St. Louis on Thursday and not getting into any post season tournaments, and we'll see how Geno gets treated.

But there was at least one instance in the past where it was equally unwarranted, and yet there were some here who demanded that coach's firing immediately.

We still played bad in the first half but at the time of the technical UNI wasn't playing all that well either

This happened in the 1st half - I think Geno was going above and beyond to will this team to fight, as it was somewhat lacking in the 1st half. Let's not get into something so minor when the root cause of the deficit was allowing the other team to explode, which resulted in a barrage of points.
Sure, it was 2 points, but so was giving up a couple offensive rebounds in the 2nd half that could have resulted in us getting 5 points that we needed to pull off the win.
Not sure if you were TRYING to stir the nest and using it to kick a dead horse again. At least you pointed out what Geno is doing right.

Wasn't there a similar story in the paper this morning about the criteria some cops use to hand out tickets??

Oh.....and it's also not a good sign when your starting point guard leads the team in rebounds! I sure hope Geno and company have some bigs lined up for next season!???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again.
