I read the entire game therad on the UNI board and really only 3 things seems to impress them and occupy most of their comments..

-they were impresed with our T-shirt cannon
-they seemed to have a lot of fans complaining about the refs even tho almost all the calls went their way - smh
-and they noted that we do play a whole lot of one-on-one -- which may rally you when you have a guy that's hot but it is ultimately our downfall...

The T was in the first half and was bogus call. It gets called after a bad call(which happens) but then it's a media timeout and Geno wasn't even talking to the ref who gave him the T.....during the ft's Geno asked him about not getting a warning and the ref said when you are that far out I don't need to warn you.....

oh...and what does Les have to do with anything?
Agree with you Lefty...bogus call and unwarranted...and I thought we were done with the living in the past...what does JL have to do with it...

Can our resident official describe the T and if it was warranted?
What part of illegal don't you understand?

Bradley trailed Tulsa 34-28 at halftime at home that season, but won 69-64.
Bradley trailed 38-29 at home to SIU, and lost 72-59.
And they trailed ODU 39-29, but won 79-75.
Those were halftime scores, but being at all three of those games, I know we fell further behind early in the second half in all of those games before we came back. I'm pretty sure we were down at least 16 or 18 to SIU and ODU before we came back. The crowd was absolutely deafening that day against ODU and they certainly rallied the team to victory!

We should fire Geno Mid-Season for that T.

sometimes a T rallies the troops - this one was probably quite unexpected for Geno... but he did come out 10-15 feet off the sidelines and almost all the way to mid-court -
I am sure he just thought that time was going to be called because the TV timeout was due - but it ain't called until the ref calls it and he blew the "T" first

well it starts when the ref signals to the timekeeper to start the timeout clock....but every game I've seen this year when the whistle blows after the clock is past the media timeout team managers and everyone else is on the floor before the ref signals it......this had nothing to do with trying to rally the troops but a ref who decided to flex his muscle

In 2011 we came from 23 down at UNI and almost won the ballgame.

Well, I expect some won't agree, but the technical by our coaches really hurt us, and may have ended up costing Bradley this game.
In addition, after Bradley made a nice run to get close in the 2nd half, and right after a three by DSE, Coach Ford called a quick timeout before UNI inbounded the ball, that I thought hurt Bradley's momentum when some of the Northern Iowa players were clearly getting winded. UNI had already used up all but one of their timeouts, so they didn't want to call another one. It looked to me like the Bradley timeout benefitted UNI much more than Bradley. UNI came back out of that timeout energized and made several more threes. Again, I recall the previous coach getting ripped for doing this, but I doubt we'll see that now. Overall I think Geno is doing a good job, but these 2 incidents hurt us more than helped. And it's hard to understand why our team didn't have the effort in the first half that they showed in the 2nd.
you know what Bill - I had some time so I went back and read some of the older posts (2-3 years) when our coach got a technical - and the entire tone of those threads is so 100% different - angry, accusatory, blaming, demanding someone be fired, really ripping anyone and everyone for a loss......
sure glad we have a lot calmer and more reasonable posters now - so I am glad you brought it up but nobody seems to want to make much of it now

since you decided to bring it back after it died T......you don't see the difference between Geno and JL and dealing with the refs? Night and day difference

You know the technical was unwarranted

                          Yes it was, no doubt.
But there was at least one instance in the past where it was equally unwarranted, and yet there were some here who demanded that coach's firing immediately.

I won't speak for those whom you are referencing, but I'm guessing that there was more to their demand than one technical foul.

No, but just added more fuel to their fire.

Exactly....I never demanded Les to be fired over a technical and many who did said it out of frustration but nevertheless(Les)......JL's reputation with the refs was an issue......my main problem with Jim and the officials was complaining to the refs virtually the whole game and doing it in a way that showed them up...
