  • New polls- Creighton rises, Wichita State falls

Here are the newest polls just released-
    AP writers poll-

    USA Today/ESPN coaches poll-

Creighton rises to #16 in the AP media poll, and #13 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll. Wichita State falls to #22 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, and they fall completely out of the AP poll (they received enough votes to be tied for 28th)

and although they weren't getting votes - Indiana State's RPI drops only to 52...so there'll still be some thinking they're in the hunt..

There about 5 teams with a better RPI that I think that Indy St. is more deserving to get an At-Large bid, according to SOS & quality wins (vs. RPI top 50/100)

      #32 Middle Tennessee
      #36 Southern Miss
      #37 BYU
      #47 UMass
      #48 Illinois

So as much as thought that the Drake loss about burst their bubble, going on a strong run to end the Valley season could keep them in the running, especially with 2 total wins vs. Creighton and/or Wichita St.

If season ended today though, I would have to say they are NIT bound.

Well, that's a shame, I hope Wichita is able to rebound.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

well - now it's interesting to flash back...

hardly anyone doubted that Creighton & Wichita were the cream of the Valley...

but some quite accurately predicted that Creighton wouldn't go as far as Wichita...while the rest of the Valley were pretty medicre - even tho several predicted Indiana State & UNI - and maybe ISU (early on) were going to get at large bids.

I think Creighton struggles next year with quality opponents and Big East caliber recruits facing them every night.
Sure Doug McD is good - but remember how he sometimes played when he faced big time competition?
His draft stock could actually drop unless he becomes a more prolific 3-pt shooter - but that's maybe the plan - to play him on the wing more...
