  • Colt Ryan pick-em

Just for fun, how many points will Colt Ryan score Tuesday against Bradley...
..no prize - just the prestige of being an expert.......

I think a lot of people think he's killed us whenever we've play them - but I think the truth will surprise some......actually we had a game plan for Ryan's first two seasons that contained him pretty well.

He sure had two great games against us last year - but prior to that he had not done well against us at all!

In the six games we've played against a Colt Ryan Aces team - here are his game performances...

    ...................FG accuracy....3-pt accuracy....total points
    Freshman
    Game 1.............5-15.................2-8.................12
    Game 2.............5-17.................2-9.................17

    Sophomore
    Game 3.............4-13.................1-5.................11
    Game 4.............5-11.................2-6.................14

    Junior
    Game 5............12-21................8-14...............39
    Game 6..............9-15................2-4................24

Totals...............40-92 (43.5%)...17-46 (37%).....117 (19.5 ppg, but just 13.5 for his first two years)

I say Dyricus and Walt put the stops on him and hold him to just 13, under his 17.8 ppg overall average and well under his 21.5 ppg MVC scoring average.
Tiebreaker - guess the attendance for a Tuesday game against Evansville - my guess 6978

???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

So Colt Ryan is a better player as a Jr. and Sr. than he was as a Freshman and Soph.?

                Go figure.

Evansville was also much better against Walt Lemon Jr. when he was a freshman and sophomore, than they've been so far this year.

Walt scored 22 points earlier this year at the Ford Center. As a freshman, he scored 7 & 0, and as a sophomore, he scored 11 and 0.

sorry - but your pick-em guess is invalid as this pick-em has nothing to do with Walt Lemon...
..anyway - 7 pts during Walt's frosh campaign and 11 during his soph year ARE kinda right at Walt's averages those years - so looks like at least half the time they control him pretty well,
and the other half he doesn't go off on them and hits his averages.
                  ...anyway......

When Colt Ryan was a freshman - his season 3-pt shooting pct was 38% but we held him to 23.5% - and held him at or under all of his offensive averages

When Colt Ryan was a sophomore - his season 3-pt shooting pct was 41% but we held him to 27% - and also held him under all of his offensive averages

When Colt Ryan was a junior - his season 3-pt shooting pct was 44% -
but we allowed him to hit 56% - and Ryan went off way above all of his averages against us

..and actually almost ALL of Colt Ryan's offensive numbers are off a bit this year - his FG accuracy, his 3-pt shooting is way off, rebounds, blocks, steals,
and scoring averages are all down considerbly.
...and just a few weeks ago - he said why.... but he's pretty healthy now...
"For the first time in almost two months, Colt Ryan considers himself healthy again.
...a hip pointer injury....other bumps and bruises...a jammed finger...a hit on the head..."

FWO - you almost nailed it...congrats............

Colt Ryan goes 10-22 and ends with 27 pts so he fails to reach 2000 career points...
BU's attendance was a pitiful 6653....with a lot of empties...
a quick review of the numbers shows this is the first year with two Valley games drawing under 6700 since more than 20 years ago - the end of the Albeck era....
