      C'mon BU fanatics! Let's vote!

Gotta beat out Henderson, who is the frontrunner right now. Walt's is clearly better than his.

The 2 shots Walt made tonight were unbelievable, the one up and under the basket and the one he shot the ball high off the glass over Carmichael , he played one heck of a game tonight and should be opening a lot of eyes as far as one of the best players in the conference, congratulations to him as I know he puts in a ton of extra work on his game and it has really paid off.

Really too bad we've got an above avg core of players this season in the league. Walt would normally be 1st team, but is likely the 6th in overall voting. And that love affair in the MVC with Odum will get him in no matter what.

Walt has been simply spectacular, especially in front of the Peoria fans!

LB - I hope you're wrong - and I think there's a chance - because when people look at the stats - they will see that every aspect of Walt's game has IMPROVED in the conference games...

His scoring average goes from 14 to 18 (that's high enough to win the MVC scoring title in all but two years going back to the beginning of the century)
His long range shooting goes from 26% to 41% (45% before last night)
His assists go from 3.2 to 3.6
FT shooting improves from 79% to 82%
steals go from 2.1 to 2.7
..and turnovers are still high but go down from 3.8 to 3.5/gm

..plus the intangibles - he's become more of a team leader, hits the clutch shots, drives and gets other guys in foul trouble, and has the blazing speed to finish & get the fans on their feet.

Hope I'm wrong too, but since Odum will be on a team with a winning record, and likely the Top 3 in the league, with a reputation he's already got as one of the premier players in the league and undeniably best PG, I don't see how you can't put him on 1st team.

Ryan, McDermott, Early, are locks to make it.
Carmichael is a scoring/rebounding machine, and barring an implosion on his part, will not be left out.

Whoever finished in the All-Valley 1st team will be known as one of the best teams in a long time...maybe the best in the last 20 seasons.

I'd say only Ryan & McDermott are locks - as Early is only half way thru the conference season - and already his production is tailing off...........
His MVC conference average is a little over 17 ppg, and not ONCE in the past 6 games has he even hit his average.
Maybe a little of him hitting the wall plus other teams finally studying the films and figuring out the defenses...

In that span his shooting has tailed off to 39% from the field (23-58 )
and 32% from the arc (8-25)

Walt's dash & drop is leading among the 4 choices right now...keep voting!

In 2nd is that Henderson dude from Ole Miss, so we need to knock him out of the race!

                      Winner Walt! Winner Walt!

GEICO Best of College Basketball shared a link...
Congrats to Bradley Braves Athletics Walt Lemon Jr. for winning Week 3 of GEICO Play of the Year voting! Finals voting starts March 18

(Click on "Weekly Finalists" tab to see who's won each week!

He will be among 8 or 9 finalists who will have won the weekly award, which started on Jan. 14th.

I'm guessing that the Butler shot that dropped to beat #1 Indiana will have a really good chance to win it all, but Nice job Braves fans for voting hard to give Mr. Lemon a chance to squeeze out a win!
Kudos also to BP for getting the word out!

They are in Week #7 now in the GEICO Play of the Year.
I would think there are 3 more weeks to go, as they are a week behind.

Looks as thought Griffey's game-winning lay-up at the buzzer over IU will win bigtime in Week 7, though the SD's last second circus-layup to beat LMU was pretty sweet. Unbelievably, Ben Brust's half-court heave at the buzzer to send Wiconsin to OT to beat #5 Michigan has the least votes, but I would consider that one to be in the running for play of the year.

Trying to be as objective as possible, I would rank Walt's winner as the 2nd or 3rd best play when considering the in-game situation and the play itself.

I think Butler's shot in the paint over the Zags might be the best.

We will need everyone's vote in the finals to get Lemon Jr. and BRADLEY more recognition when the whole nation will be watching (on Sat. April 6 during the Final 4!)

That's the problem. While Walt's buzzer was more personally the most satisfying to my allegiances...Butler's shot was basically the same shot, under a nuch more amazing game situation.
the plays would only be equal if MoSt was ranked and they were inbounding the ball, but Walt steals it then makes the game winner.

Walt's play did not win -- Tyler Griffey's last second layup to beat Indiana won

interesting - on their Geico website a lot of people are crying foul...
                              "a layup??? WTF???"
"I am an Illinois fan. Is a layup a great play? Probably not."
"....so a collapsed play is credited as best play.. OF THE YEAR???"
"That play is not worthy, any D1 player could finished that play."
                              " that's weak.."
