Every basketball floor in the country that has a hockey ice surface below it has this same problem. It is nothing unique. When humidity rises, and the floor is cool, condensation will inevitable form. I think the Arena people do as good a job as possible preventing it. I have seen arenas where it is much worse. And it is not an issue that favors any team.

It might be nice if we could take taxpayer's money and build a new arena dedicated to basketball, but that isn't going to happen.

I have never seen The Bulls sacrifice their floor condition for The Blackhawks. I've never heard of any issues with any of the major sports arenas. I'm sure there are issues with lesser facilities or older ones that do not have the state of the art refrigeration system. I've just spent a bit of time looking for instances of condensation on the courts and all the professional shared facilities seem to not to have these issues. In short Carver has below average equipment plain and simple. They have zero incentive to update it I bet.

Also, ISU may be the MVC team that loses the most to graduation this year. They get a huge portion of their production from their seniors. For the MVC team that has gone the longest without an NCAA appearance, that should seem like the biggest concern to an ISU fan, and not worrying about the quality of the teams you lose to.

Well DM holding out our starting PG to "discipline" him likely DID cost us the game. Bradley's defense certainly had alot to do with that. But the 11 mins that Hill played, he had 6 pts, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 turnover. The 31 mins that Keane and Cousin played, they had a combined for 9 turnovers and 0points.

It's not an excuse, it's a reason.

You think you would have won if you started PG was benched for the final 36 mins of the game?

And for 2nd time, I never said the slippery court had anything to do with costing us the game, just that it was dangerous and I'd be embarrassed.

Oh- and in regards to "good luck on Thursday", if you think you are out of the woods on the Thursday game, you are crazy. So either "good luck to you" or "see ya there".

I never ONCE said that we were out of the woods on the Thursday game, just that you will be playing in it. See, I can play that game too.

Do I think that if our starting PG was benched for 30 minutes we would have won? No. But our starting PG is much, much better than yours.

Looking at the remaining schedules, I'm pretty sure SIU, Drake, and ISU will be there. I still don't think MSU is as good as they've looked at times, but their remaining schedule gives them a chance to finish ahead of us if they can beat us the final game of the season. It may come down to that game for 6th.

Dave tweeted that the Civic Center's chiller had broken. It has been a while since we've had big issues with the floor, so I think they have much better equipment and processes from the early days and are doing a decent job, now.
It is possible that pro stadiums have better backup equipment, which still results in yesterday..

The impact of benching Hill is debatable. But the game probably wouldn't have been as close as it was if Geno hadn't benched Milos. He probably would have made 6 or 7 3s.

The argument about Johnny Hill was that if he had played, ISU wouldn't have had as many turnovers, and would have won. I am not buying it.
Checking the play-by-play, it appears ISU, as a team, actually had proportionately more turnovers while Hill was on the floor, than when he was on the bench. Plus, by benching Hill, maybe that allowed their better 3-point shooters (Hill shoots only 25% from three) to be on the floor more, which was the primary reason ISU even stayed close with Bradley.

Aside from the fact that you do not have a good PG, the thing that absolutely stunned me last night was that for some strange reason, ISU did not give Carmichael the ball in the post to close out the game when you had a 5 point lead. Given that Egolf, Prosser, and Shayock each had 4 fouls, I have to question your coach on that!

Chico - the promotions were all during TV timeouts. When ISU took time, the band fired up and the cheerleaders came out.
