OK - call me a skeptic - but I am stumped on this one...
how'd Evansville get the guy and get him eligible??
first - according to the current date claimed to be his birthdate,he turned 21 on Jan. 9 2013...so he's already a 21 year old freshman.
BUT ---there are discrepancies on this guy...
The above link says his birthdate is 1/9/92, but this site says it's SEPTEMBER 1, 1992
..and that site also lists Mockevicius' averages with a couple different "club teams" he has played with
That "club team" also had on it many 28 to 35 year old Lithuanian professional players.
Many of the names on Mockevicius' team have played for years as professionals on multiple different professional teams and not just in Lithuania - but in many other European nations' pro leagues.
This is a professional team that Mockevicius has played two full seasons on-
http://www.eurobasket.com/player.asp...PlayerID=98988
Even a quick and easy search for Mockevicius - shows that he has played on at least four different professional teams.
including one top professional team, ZALGIRIS KAUNAS, which lists him as a past player..
Here are his stats from his play with Zalgiris Kaunas - one of the top pro teams in Lithuania
It gets even more interesting - when he played for that pro team - he listed his birthdate as December 17, 1989...but everyhting else about him, his hometown, his height, and even his picture all show it's the same guy.
That would make him 23 years old ?
then he didn't even arrive in the US for the very first time until classes started - and he gets cleared by NCAA.
In the end - I don't really care -we still gotta beat these guys - and I am happy the guy skeeted thru without a hitch
and got cleared by NCAA even tho it's never happened in all of history before to any other Euro kid like John Wilkins, Lucca Staiger, etc...
..and least of all happen overnite without a hitch to a kid with such discrepancies in his past history and a track record of playing for pro teams!
(remember Enes Kanter - maybe pocketed a little more $$ but precisely the same story)
