hey - a whole lot was made, publicity-wise, about this selection of the 4 millionth fan..
but then I never saw any writeup about the person who was selected...

even this twitter announcement that they were about to name the 4 millionth fan was followed by no further mention...

Maybe someone connected with Bradley, or with these promotions can help explain this.
Bradley announced the promotion for the "Bradley's 4 millionth fan".-
PEORIA, Ill. ? As Bradley prepares for a men's basketball attendance milestone, fans are encouraged to utilize social media for a chance to be selected the honorary 4 Millionth Fan.

And they were 9,409 fans shy of the 4 millionth fan prior to the game January 29 vs. Illinois State. However, that game drew only 9,088 fans, so the "4 millionth fan" would seem not to be determined until the next game Feb. 5 against Evansville. Then there was a brief ceremony well before the start of the Evansville game where they announced the "Honorary 4 millionth fan". It was announced that the Honorary 4 millionth fan was Tori Jennetten, who I understand was selected well before the game, and thus was not the real 4 millionth fan. In a stroke of irony, I am told that Tori Jennetten is related to the former Chairman of the Bradley Board of Trustee Mike McCord, who recently passed away.

Dave Reynolds had only a brief mention of the event in his article after the ISU game-

But, oddly, no mention of this 4 millionth fan, or the promotion, or the person selected, appears to have been posted again on the Bradley website. That is quite strange, since it was the BU website that had initially promoted this whole thing. Can anyone clarify what happened, and why there was not some mention of this on the BU website?

Plus how can the 4 millionth fan be someone who actually did not go to the game? The winner could have been a person who liked Bradley Athletics on Facebook or are followers of @bradleybraves on Twitter. I realize it is a guess who the actual person is but I think the winner should be present at the game and celebrated at the gate they walk in and at halftime. Maybe this happened anyway. I did not hear about it.

2 fact to clear up definitively:

-Tory Jennetten is NOT the daughter of Mike McCord (but she is related)
-Tory DID attend the ISU game and was on the scoreboard during the 2nd half when they announced it during a TV timeout.

The whole thing was not handled very well...several issues with how it was promoted, how it was selected, and the fact that they didn't even hit the 9,500 threshold makes the whole thing look silly when technically the 4 millionth fan would have entered during the Evansville game.

And I don't know why they didn't promote the winner. Maybe they didn't want the validity of the thing exposed due to the attendance issue vs ISU.

Agreed. What I was trying to say is that the "winner" could have been selected from people who entered the contest via social media. Selected before the gates open up to the game. It could have been someone who does not go to games or lives out of town.

In any event it is good to hear the winner was at the game. Maybe BU said, "congratulations, you are going to be the winner." "Make sure you come to the game so we can recognize you." Somehow I missed it.

I believe this was the case.
