I think you are right. KDB was brought in to be a PG and I'm pretty sure he was a Willie Scott recruit and how did that work out for him. I also agree with your thinking, wouldn't be surprised to see him else where next year. In fact surprised if he is in a BU uni. Wish him well no matter what he decides.

I was wondering how long it takes before people start riding NW for being a wasted scholarship like they do MK and others. I've seen people say they don't expect anything from him until next year at the very earliest and more likely the year after that, which would be his 4th year here.

Obviously, at this point in time, it should probably be considered JP since he's been here longer. Hopefully, NW doesn't take 4 years to show any progress. I do know some people have stated they don't think it should take that long before a player is "shown the door".

He is very good vs. the weaker opponents with a smaller line-up but is intimidated vs. the Valley Bigs.
            My thoughts exactly.

Hope I don't get ridiculed for editing this quote.

I see him staying, though I'm sure he thought he'd be playing more this season. But if the plan is to have Fields play the point for 30+ minutes and Lemon the rest, then not sure where he'd fit in.

I don't necessarily think KB is exclusively a PG, but can see Geno fitting him as a 2 if effective shooting from long range, and he may have the best stroke among our active players besides WE. Hope he stays, as I think very highly of him, and doesn't appear intimidated out there for a freshman. 15 mpg is where he should be next season.

The follow up question to this is, what is your expectation for next year and year 4. I believe GF is pretty good coach from what I've seen but 1/2 the battle at this level is recruiting. Again I'll wait until next November to voice my opinion but I do expect at a minimum we should be .500 in league play next year. The following we should be contesting for one of the 3 top spots in the Valley.

This is what I expect. Next year we'll have mostly Geno recruits, so there's not much excuse to go at least .500 in the league. The following year, we should start to see even better recruits, plus we'll have seniors JC, SS and juniors OG, AF, KB (hopefully) that will have lots of experience in the league, and a team attitude that, "Hey, We can WIN this thing (the Valley)"

The key is to bring in some bigs that are tough, athletic, and give us good scoring production. I am not concerned with the guards we'll have.

Depending on what the non-con schedule looks like, I'd like to see at least 8 Nov./Dec. wins and 8 league wins. More than that would be a nice bonus. Year 4, I expect a legit contender.

Yes and no. If a player takes let's say 3 years before they make progress, that 4th year would not be wasted. Even a player that takes 3+ years to develop can contribute nicely in their senior season. The problem is that if every recruit takes 3 or more years to develop, there's no way a team would be able to challange for a conference championship since only 3 or 4 players are playing at a level expected by that time. So obviously while I would not ever give up on players that take longer than expected to develop, we need more players that can develop within a year or so or we will never challange for the top of the Valley.

So you expect about what we are seeing this year, correct? If so, I would agree as well because even though we may have a deeper team next year, it will take some time for all the new players to develop and gel. That's why even one or two fewer wins would not shock me, though I think Geno can hopefully at least get the same number of wins next year.

I've stated all along that I'm not really looking at wins/losses this season, only improvement in the product that's put on the floor.

I'll be looking for an improved win/loss record beginning next season and what you've stated seems perfectly reasonable to me.

If a player is here five years and doesn't contribute until year four or five, then that could be considered a "wasted" scholarship.

Wasted in terms of only giving one year or less of a decent contribution, yes. But if they turn into a "superstar" in year four or five, then no, at least not a complete waste. But again as I said before, if everyone takes that long to develop, that won't help Bradley as far as championships are concerned.
