At this point I would say Prosser is more of a wasted scholarship than Nate. Nate has been here 1 1/2 years. To expect a 7 foot project to develop within that time frame is simply silly. JP has had 3 1/2 years and has shown little progress.
The problem with Nate being a project is that BU has two transfers and a walk on level player on scholarship. That automatically eliminates any chance of depth. You basically have 9 scholarship players this year. Next year there will be 6 'new' players and a guy like Nate can be more well hidden on the end of the bench.
I don't believe this team was built to win this year. But sometimes you have to lean into one to help the team...

So is anybody going to comment on the actual game last night?
I missed listening to it and am now just checking in.
Sometimes I don't check out the score late at night because then I would be up so much later trying to get filled in as to what happened.
Seems that WL played an outstanding game, and TP played decent, but everyone else had an off night.
What's up with us on the road in the Valley? We just don't play the same as at home.

he did but he was pressing and at times forcing shots not really playing the PG position -- and at other times
trying to take the entire Aces team on by himself sorta giving up on looking for any open teammates in the final 8-10 minutes
when BU went from a 1-pt deficit to double digit deficit.

JP a waste? Can't disagree more with any comment I've seen on this post. JP may not be giving us the offensive numbers we thought he could at this point but he has played solid D and without him I can't imagine how bad this team would be. I also believe we are not playing him to his skill. His game coming out of HS was suited more to a 4 then the 5 we have him at."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

I like the kid, but he is just not giving us the production we need.
He is very good vs. the weaker opponents with a smaller line-up but is intimidated vs. the Valley Bigs.

Though both redshirted, I never considered Prosser a project. I thought JP would be a much bigger contributor than he has been. Agree with you on hopes that he comes on strong this year and next. What part of illegal don't you understand?

Our problem is most of our starters should be coming off the bench for us to be in the upper 3 in this league. I'm pretty sure who brought them all here excluding TP. Now don't get your undies in a bunch. Yes ,I think Walt should be a starter but for heavens sake not at the point. We just have to be patient until Geno gets his own people in here.I won't go into all the shortcomings of our starters because if you know anything about basketball you already know why we perform the way we do.For example when one or more of your starters have a higher GPA than shooting percentage you know your not gonna compete for titles. What part of illegal don't you understand?

that brings up a good point - weren't we told that Ka'Darryl was brought in to be our PG?
With the volume of playing time he sees - would it surprise anyone if he goes elsewhere?
some people predicted he'd "be playing a lot right away" as point guard

I agree with you that he has played out of position for most of his career at BU. It is a shame really. The guy is nowhere near 6-9 and should be playing a F spot. I never understood the listing guys as a lot taller than they are philosophy.
Lately when I watch him on D, I think of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ccUDrB_8jQ
And every time I see him with the ball on the block, I wish he had a shock collar on. Geno could shock him every time he tries to put the ball on the floor. He just refuses to go straight back up strong.
The good news is that he is shooting much better this year than last. He should be shooting 55+ considering all of his shots come from within 4 feet of the basket.

I like Prosser and agree that he is not a wasted scholarship. Just look at his career stats while at BU... Not too shabby. Prosser is what he is -- a good role player who's been asked to do too much on a bad team. His value would be more clear on a good team as he'd be able to come off the bench and bang hard for limited time... Still probably putting up the same numbers he does now. I really think most are being WAY too hard on Jordan simply because he hasn't lived up to the hype that was created when he came out of high school... He's still a good kid and a good team player.

I agree on Prosser. He is getting a bad rap. Check out Shaunguths stats per 40 minutes. JP is not too far behind WE in scoring and rebounds. If you go back a few games (which I think is fair as JP has had the flu) JP was ahead of WE in points per 40.
JP is also leading the team in FG% with 50.9%. That is if you throw out Nate's 3 makes in 5 shots due to small sample size. JP also is second on the team in points per shot. He is very efficient.
JP doesn't foul and doesn't turn the ball over.
He is a junior. He should get better for his senior year. WE sure did. Don't underestimate this kid. He should give us 20-25 real solid minutes next year and be a real valuable member of the team.
