  • It's official- Will Egolf to play Tuesday against SIU

Bradley coach says Egolf will go against SIU

Public humiliation... Letting your teammates down... Time in the clink... Multiple games missed... Harrassment to come on the road... Extra scrutiny going forward from the administration and coaching staff...

Yeah, I think Will's been sufficiently punished and deserves this shot. Welcome back Will! We support you! Good luck! Once A Brave Always A Brave!

For the record- with Will, Bradley is 9-4, without Will they are 1-3.

Though I do think the difference has more to do with the quality of the opponents, there is no doubt Will can help the team with his return.

First I will state that I agree with the decision.

Second, I will say that 4 games for a felony narcotics conviction means you should probably hold off on talking about other teams and light discipline for a while.

Especially since he was sitting in jail during one of those 4 games. As I've stated before, I don't think games missed while sitting in a jail cell should count towards a suspension.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Fortunately, for Will, you were not the judge in his case. I think Judge Gorman, like most judges, considered all the factors, and rendered a wise decision. Will made a serious mistake, but not all felonies are the same. Will has no prior record, was not selling drugs, had only a small number of the pills, and he did not harm anyone else. He was punished appropriately for his crime by Judge Gorman, and will also be punished appropriately under the written policies of the university. He is not getting off easy which cannot be said about a number of athletes at other schools, including SIU.

4 games and no jail time for a felony conviction for narcotics is getting off pretty easy. I agree with the penalties all factors considered but it is still getting off easy.

This makes absolutely NO sense... So you agree with getting off easy?

Could you clarify how you agree with the penalties but think it is getting off easy? Seems like you could either think the punishment is fair or it isn't.

I think the ONLY defense would be that he's an SIU grad.

For first time offenders, yes. Let them off easy as long as no violence is involved.

I don't know how it works but Risinger was the original judge and Gorman did this...was it becuase it was an unscheduled hearing?

that was the only point I was trying to make.
