Wow. That was a quick deal. He was not scheduled to have his preliminary hearing until Jan. 31. This must have been a deal worked out fast to get it resolved and behind him. If Will completes all the terms of the probation agreement, his felony will apparently be removed from his record.
The only reason I can see to do this so quickly would be so he can return to playing quickly. I hope that is the case.

Still no official word from Bradley.

I'm guessing the same thing. His plead is not a great deal except for its quickness. I'm sure he's hoping to play professionally and he'll need the rest of the season to show case his skills. I'm sure the judge was making sure the deal could play in Peoria.

This is about what I expected. The treatment will be "as needed" so who knows what treatment that will consist of (if it is even deemed by a professional that he needs any). Personally I think we will see him back sooner than later! Lets hope!

wonder if WE had two options - face the hearing on Jan. 30 then the judicial process that wouldn't have concluded for months - or plead now (as would be reasonable) and get an acceptable sentence of probation & charges deferred so he can get on with his life and possibly finish his playing career......
BTW - the entering of the charges is being deferred and if he completes probation satisfactory - there will be no conviction on his record.

I am sure he got a lawyer, then his lawyer got him this plea bargain...which is an absolute no brainer. No trial...and with the probation being granted, he has put his conviction (or lack thereof) in his own hands. So I guess in theory he had 2 options...but realistically he had to take this.

Let me ask, how many other players from other teams have openly apologized for their transgressions? Glad to see this and I wish him the best!

Why wait? I don't think that there would have been a better deal than what he got.

His only problem will be in seeking employment over the next two years with a documented conviction. Maybe he can go kick around overseas playing basketball long enough for his record to clear up.

but Gary - if he completes the supervision period, there will be NO conviction..it will not be entered into the record...
..currently and for the next two years - charges are deferred - thus he has ENTERED A PLEA, but there is yet to be a conviction and there won't be if he fulfills his end of the deal.

Apparently, I don't understand the legal workings of this very well. So, if he comes into my business and fills out an application, and we ask him if he has been charged with any felonies or convicted of any crimes, he can answer "no"?

from my understanding you can't ask if he has been charged, only convicted and technically he hasnt been convicted... but i'm not sure thankfully i've never had to worry about this

Yeah... I'd have to look at our application. I can't remember what it says, but you may be correct.
