However - there might be a factor in that there's a big time, widely promoted NC All Star game
being held on March 22...but today is the deadline for coaches to submit their players' names to be in the All Star Game.
...and...for one reason or another Michael Tucker was left off the roster - apparently by his own coach at QEA.

Tweet actually says Uken and Coleman flew there, not Geno.

anyway - since we have a signed LOI - Michael has really only four options - 1-BU, 2-prep/juco, 3-go elsewhere but pay his own way, or 4-ask out of the LOI

It's a semester break transfer, so I'm not too concerned. And if we sent TWO assistant coaches to "support" this, I'm confident they are making sure the academic aspects are in line.

Which makes me wonder..
Some kids go to a prep school to finish HS, but others finish HS, then go to a prep school...do we know if Tucker is the former or later?

Or more simply, is he in the correct class for MCDAA voting?

Some kids spend a post-graduate season at a prep school. Tucker is still a senior, and hasn't graduated, if that answers your question.

he is in his 4th year of high school and so this is not currently a post-grad prep school year...but there's little reason for him to leave QEA if his interest was to stay an extra year at prep school then do a 5th year of HS at a prep school

Maybe something happened at QEA to prompt this? - and the extent of what's known still doesn't explain all this...

...the organizer of the All Star game in NC has said that he was told....
Tucker's name was left off the list because he was going to play in two other All Star games - but that doesn't make any sense at all since he's not even in school any longer in North Carolina.

This all-star game has been organized since last November and the coaches have had plenty of time to submit their players' names...
The organizer of the game even started calling the coaches more than a week ago who had not yet submitted their nominations...
and yet - the QEA head coach never submitted Tucker's name and instead finally submitted a list that has four other guys on it and leaves Tucker's name off...
Seriously - how strange is that when Tucker is his best player BY FAR and in some of their best games Tucker has scored more than everyone else on their team combined?

BTW - the high school he was at previously was Alcovy HS in Covington, GA, a school of 1872 enrollment,
and their basketball team is struggling just a bit and they are probably happy to get Tucker on the roster..

Sounds like a family issue explains his transfer better.

He is eligible immediately to play again at his old high school Alcovy HS in Covington, Georgia, which doesn't happen in a lot of states. He will play in their big game tonight against rival Rockdale HS.
