Do you really think Bradley chose to play this game on a Sunday afternoon? The league schedule is done by the Missouri Valley Conference and works within available television windows, as well as available dates at the Peoria Civic Center.
Sincerely,
BP
So the MVC thinks they will get exposure by getting a game on ESPNU in a time slot against the NFL playoffs? Perhaps it is time to search for a new conference! smh
Upon reviewing the schedule, I find that we play 6 games on Saturday. Five of those six games have a 1pm start. Perhaps a harder negotiating line needs to be taken with the PCC etc to get more Saturday night games. Five Saturday 1pm games is insanely stupid!

Ben

Ben - it is far harder and more time consuming to put the floor down after a hockey game than to take it up after a basketball game...thus when we play on a Saturday with the Rivermen also playing we always get to go first.
No doubt Bradley needs to negotiate better gametimes. As for todays crowd - louder than normal without students and nobody behind me complained when I stood up.

But the Rivermen can't play at home every Saturday, they have to have away games, too.
The sportscast said they are in San Antonio today, so they were probably not in Peoria last night, they've been in Texas this weekend..
(I know ESPN wanted us today)
I see folks saying that Bradley needs to negotiate a better deal with the PCC. You need a leverage point to gain a better position in a negotiation and Bradley doesn't have one. What's their threat? We'll take all of our games on campus! No.
The Blues have a real strong position from which to negotiate. There are arenas in the QC, Bloomington, and St. Charles, MO, that would take them in a heartbeat.

This is why BU is trying to position itself with the option of playing at Ren-Col () so they DO have the leverage for a better deal -
Seems the folks in the Athletic Department are doing everything they can, doing a great job, as successful and almost any team in the Valley
or at the mid-major level.
First off, I would like to apologize to BP for the tone of my last post.
That being said, having only one Saturday night regular season game out of six Saturday events is unacceptable. There should be at least a 50-50 split here between Saturday afternoon and night games. --yes I realize the logistics involved with Riverman games-- There are negotiating tactics that can be utilized. The Ren Con tactic mentioned earlier is only one negotiating point. I have seen in numerous negotiations that the "squeaky wheel gets the grease." Folks, its time to be more vocal and start the negotiation process.

Regarding these odd Sunday game times, this is the time ESPNU showcases the Valley each week. Even the ACC has Sunday night games on ESPN and Fox Sports. I'm not sure how they get around the odd scheduling, but if Bradley and the Valley wants some nationally televised games, I guess they have no choice but to schedule a few of these Sunday night games.

I don't think that Jim Wetherington believes for a minute that Bradley would move all 16 men's games back on campus. Especially, if the program rebounds even quicker than what some expected.
Doesn't having the RenCo as game #31 on the schedule mean Will's possible 10% suspension is 4 games instead of 3?
I thought the 10% suspension would be 4 games all along. I don't recall hearing of a 3-game suspension until just now.
