Does anyone know if they will now be available to out-of-towners that can only watch on BU.tv. Hopefully they can manage to pickup the stream. It would help to make up for the failed broadcast at SIU.

In an age of internet streaming, I have never understood why, when a game is being broadcast for free at a local level only (and not blacked out elsewhere), why it doesn't also make it out there for internet viewing. Add in the fact that in this case it is being shown on PBS (paid for in part by taxpayers) and I am even more confused. I'm sure some FCC rule has something to do with this.

I absolutely disagree, it is because BU hasn't found it to be prudent to invest in the streaming. I guarantee it would be very simple to negotiate the rights to rebroadcast on the internet with the local PBS. It is technically against FCC and Copyright rules to rebroadcast the direct feed, but BU could easily fix that, it's the technical ability they seem to lack that is holding it back.

I expect if we continue to win games then they will figure out how to televise more games, much easier to get sponsors when your team is winning, wonder why WEEK does not televise sat. night games since all of NBC"s programming on Sat. nights is re-runs but then I guess we would have to have some games on Sat. night.

There is still the issue of right's fees and production costs, unless you're referring to more re-broadcasts of the opposing team's feed.

Nobody makes money off of this stuff. Ask WMBD radio how much money they make doing the games.

Hopefully more than Methodist and Green Chevy will buy spots on the next round of games.
