Not a lot of exciting stops along the way. I usually take I-55, then take Illinois Route 4 (Exit #33) and cut over to I-64 then to Route 51. It is the fastest route to SIU. It takes you through Duquoin and Carbondale. The SIU campus is on Route 51, just south of downtown Carbondale, and the Arena is the farthest south part of the campus right along Route 51.
There are a number of towns along the way and most have decent restaurants if you plan to stop for food. There are also some interesting antique shops along the way if that interests you and you have the time.

I am hoping to go, too.

      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Students on break so they will be lucky to have 3500 in attendance, should be able to get good seats.
