Purely speculation - has nothing to do with the actual scenario --
If you snort the Vicodin, you get high faster and likely don't need as many pills to get the feeling you desire. Again, I don't know if this is the case, but if there is an addiction problem involved, that could be the reason for the small quantity.
I'd also be curious to know if Will would admit to this not being the first time he purchased Vicodin or anything else from somebody...
Anybody know the connection between Will and Mr. Fletcher?Don't putt until the cup stops movin'

(sure it's used long term on people with severe chronic conditions but that does not apply here)
If Will was prescribed Vicodin - it would have been back when his nose was broke or his knee was operated.
It's hard to imagine, as GtG says - that he'd be expected to play with a condition requiring Vicodin

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostYes, of course he could. Vicodin is not an NCAA banned drug if prescribed by a doctor. It could actually impair a players performance a little, which is why only someone in great pain would take it and try to play. But there are other alternatives, and I think Will should be able to return to playing without needing this drug.

any legal experts here???
How many felonies are defendants released immediately at their intial hearing with a posted bond of $300 or less?
I suspect extremely few - giving rise to speculation that the judge views this hopefully as a lesser transgression than most felony charges
Fletcher's bond was almost 10 times higher
SIU's D. Taylor had a Class A misdemeanor and had to post $150. his other misdemeanor possession offense required $745 posted
ISU's G. Allen had to post $3000 to bond out
ISU's Brandon Sampay had a DUI and had to post $300
John Wilkins recently had to post $250 for a traffic/driving without a license violation
...so WE's bond is extremely low relative to it being a felony charge, perhaps giving rise to some thought on how serious the judge assesses the action

I think after today's meeting with Will, Coach Ford might have a light heart - he seems to really like Will. I hope he approaches it as a father would/should to a son - exercising some tough love too.
Regardless of where the Braves are a month from now (which in recent history has been out of the Valley race), I would like to see Will return if only for a few games. But the punishment should suit the crime, so if he doesn't return, then there is more to be gained for Will's future than playing a few games to end his BU career.

Possibly -- but Will knows he may not play again, might get kicked out of school, might be forever done at BU and in Central Illinois, might have little or no reason to stick around or ever come back to Illinois, already has his degree, doesn't actually live here in Illinois and never has, and is really from a state that's so far away that if he does run the state of IL may not spend the time nor $$ to haul him here to prosecute him for 6 Vicodins...
If ever there were a flight risk, on the surface, Will might be considerably higher than a large percentage of the cases the judge sees.

Will Egolf, potential FUGITIVE....
Who would have thought one month ago that this was possible in a million years?
Will better not decide to blow bail, or, Samuel Gerard will be on his tail...
I will never, ever, say I've seen it all.....Last edited by AZ BU Fan; 01-05-2013, 02:54 PM.BUilding for the Future

Az - nobody ever said he'd do anything - just the discussion of why the judge would set such a low bond for a felony charge...
I am taking it as a sign the judge is not impressed with the severity of the behavior or not fearful WE's gonna go out and repeat the behavior

I'm sure this will be quite easy to settle. A decent lawyer will look at all the circumstances (Will already admitted his guilt), he will plead for reduced charges, dismissed charges after 6 months if he does a predetermined amount of community service, commits no other offense and to heads into counseling service. The state and court system have so many other crimes that take precedence over this. After all this is not an election year in which they need to make a statement and the cost to do anything else would be shameful. What happens to him at BU I'm sure, is up to the Prez. I've not always agreed on her judgments but one thing, she has been consistent and we can expect him to sit out a fair amount of games at the least."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
