Anybody know what that really means/could mean?

I'm guessing he's sitting in jail another night because the judge decided he was going to take the day off in order to determine bail. My concern is that WE is now in a situation that he has very little control over. Let's get the facts guys before we jump on any conclusion. One thing my dad told me. When you need a lawyer or doctor get the best because one way or another you're going to pay.

If this Fletcher Ryan guy was arrested at the same time, by the same officer, for selling and Will was arrested for possessing, you can pretty easily make the assumption that Will purchased something from him.

Again, we should wait for the facts to come out but it's not hard at most bars/parties/etc. (especially on new years in places where college kids will be) to find someone selling a variety of prescription pills. And it's not uncommon for people who want to have a good time without the hangover effect or drunk driving possibility (like an athlete with commitments today) to pop a pill instead to ring in the new year.

I'm sure you can get a bit of a hangover effect from a pill as well. Plus I wouldn't want to be on the road with someone who's under the influence of drugs either. Someone this morning came very close to hitting me when he swerved right in front of me, almost 10 hours after midnight! Believe me, these type of people are still on the roads right now!

The charge usually means coke (or crack), from what I am told. I have no direct knowledge of the situation.

I don't know that the charge necessarily means coke- it would be the same charge for a prescription narcotic like Hydrocodone (Vicodin).

The DEA categorizes drugs into 5 major categories. The charges against WE are apparently for having one of the two "most dangerous" drugs, Class I or Class II (or a derivative). Class I drugs have a high abuse and addictive potential and no "known" medicinal use. Some common ones include Cocaine, LSD, Heroin, Opium, and Marijuana. Class II drugs have the same abuse and addictive potential, but have a medical use. These are most commonly opiates such as morphine, morphanone, hydromorphone, codeine, or other trade name pill (lortab/percocet).

I agree, but I'm not the one who started the JL discussion. I brought up DR as a response to the poster who did start this. But I agree we should focus on how Geno will handle this situation, but wait for the facts first as well.

This is not a Class 2 drug based on the reported charge...

Class II Drug is not the same as Class 2 felony. If he was in possession of Oxycotin or Vicadin, then he was in possession of a Class II drug and could be charged as above.

battlebassat - I went to BU during those years as well. Those were fun years and to top it off the 80s before they tighten up the drinking rules around campuses around the nation. Those teams did party up a storm (I have first hand account) but I never saw Hawk or JL out there partying.

I would have rather seen WE with an alcohol violation (I certainly can't throw stones) than a drug violation.
