people who don't watch ALL levels of d1 ball dont understand how good this team is...

They could easily compete with anyone you see on the "last 4 in" list.. but the "weak" conf and "weak" sos kills their computer numbers... to win a league championship is quite the accomplishment and with players like ceola clark and a healthy Terell Parks there is no doubt they would beat Cuanzos team and the Alabamas of the world.

We are lucky how good the valley is and how it helps the overall rank of teams in the conf.. this team could beat any valley team at home and pry beat half of them on the road (lost to evansville with a starter out after blowing a lead)

Well you might be a little optimistic there.....but they could play the teams you mention at home....I think WSU and CU would be tough to beat anywhere for Western......

I think we should be glad we played at UIC instead of going to WIU......

Yes I do.....I like their team although they aren't deep

Clark,LInk, Parks are very good IMO.........they just don't have a huge margin for error either in my opinion......

I think they would end up 3rd or 4th in the Valley this year.....

But I'm rooting like crazy they win their conference tournament

Garrett Covington had 25 last night and carried his team to STATE over a very good Marian Catholic team..
BTW - many coaches were there - including ISU & BU

lefty will apprec this...I ran into one of the WIU assistant coaches yesterday and he told of how WIU got a leg up in recruiting All Stater Garrett Covington from Edwardsville..
The assistant who was an all stater back in 2004 ended up going to SIUE where he became friends with Covington's older brother - he has had a bond with the family since then and so WIU was just a natural choice..
so congrats to Micah on the recruiting coup

that's great and it sounds like Mo has a great recruit......I know Micah has enjoyed his time at WIU which is done now for the most part. He's got his masters and is getting married in a few months

He also said that Billy is still not 100% and uses a brace - but maybe 50-50 could play in the fall - time will tell...
and that Celoa's knee is a very bad ACL that will need surgery - he's already had the other knee done...
& that Terell actually has a broken bone in his ankle but still might try to play if they have a post-season.

BTW -- funny story - 6th year WIU senior Ceola Clark was a high school senior at Warren HS when Brandon Paul was just a sophomore...
Ceola's first knee injury opened a starting spot on the Warren HS varsity and Brndon Paul moved into that starting spot.

wow - Covington turned down offers from Wisconsin, Iowa State, Iowa, Murray State..
..and he hits 53% from 3-pt range

Didn't get to see him but with his attitude and everything I read about him he should have a very good career at WIU
