  • Nice writeup on Coach Molinari

sounds like he could run for mayor of Forgottonia and win!

Great article, especially coming from KW. But the most important thing is those first difficult years which will lead to more success later one. I think GF is still in those early stages, but the wins against the teams we should be beating are coming easier this year. That's a good first step.

Also, as has been proven at Western Illinois, the attendence will begin to take care of itself when we start winning consistently.

It's easy to root for Coach Mo. I'd still like to see them on the early schedule while Mo is still there.

Coach Mo is doing something at WIU!!

They won again last night to go to 3-0 in the Summit League...
they drew almost 2000 last night - an amazing accomplishment given that it's the middle of the holidays, the students are gone from campus and the last two seasons they drew only 1100 (2011-2012) and 700 (2010-2011)...and only 600 the year before Mo took over...

Just think if Owhatever his name was hadn't transferred to ORU....of course then maybe Clark wouldn't have been back either.....but Mo has them playing well......Parks is stud in the paint too

LOL - Mo's WIU squad won their 8th straight tonight in typical mo-style ...
            39-35!!!
They scored only 12 in the first half then held the opponent to only 12 in the 2nd half when it mattered

I think that's more Savannah State than WIU.....SS beat WIU earlier down there 39-38.......a good share of WIU games have 65 plus....and they are 11-3 and
              4-0 in their conference

Mo's team winning despite injuries but trying to not use the injuries as an excuse

but he does explain clearly how injuries hurt the team's performance...
"..that's part of college basketball, but it does make it more challenging,"
Molinari said. "We have a lot of people who I think are hurting on our team,
but I won't know how much until (Thursday).
"It's a Catch-22, you can't practice as hard with everyone hurt, but you're not so sharp, so we'll rest them."

Here's another team, Utah State, who are 10-1 but they are kinda using injuries as an excuse...
" Should any of those players miss time due to injury or illness, the Aggies will be left in a very precarious position.
“We just need to stay healthy, that’s the main thing,” Morrill said. “It mostly affects us in practice. ...
...will need every bit of the bench in a busy three-game week..."

I went to the girls' regional final - they picked a bad time to play their worst game - finish 23-4

South Dakota State loses despite another monster game from Nate Wolters, 36 pts...
so WIU sits in 1st place all alone..
