Uh oh! Georgia Southern on top of Viriginia Tech 35-27 at the half!

We better not take GS too lightly next week.

Not on the Games of Interest list, but Butler shocks (or more likely not a huge shock) #1 Indiana 88-86 in overtime!

And with this win, Butler just received an invite into the new Catholic basketball league!

            Iowa handled UNI pretty easily.

I was shocked at how ineffective Mitchell and James were for UNI...supposedly their two best players and they Valley's best backcourt. They play out of control and didn't handle Iowa's defensive pressure well at all...and Iowa isn't known for stout defense. The unofficial score had them combine for 12 TOs (although the official box shows 7...that isn't right).

UNI is not getting things done this year so far. I would say their game at UNLV is now a must win in order to come out of the non-conference season with a signature win.

Creighton knocked off Cal late last night... 74-64..
                McDermott had 34...

McDermott passed Andrew Warren in career scoring in the MVC and is in 51st place as a junior - he is currently hitting 53% from 3-pt range

despite McDermott grabbing 9 rebounds and Echenique grabbing 11, Creighton as a team was badly outrebounded 53-38...
..but Cal shot so poorly (27-78 and just 3-17 from the arc) that they missed their opportunity..
