When a team shoots a lot of threes, typically, there will be a lot of long rebounds. Often times, these teams have guards with good rebounding numbers.

It's hard for me to take that fans are happy after getting beat at home.

I don't like losing either. We are in a rebuilding process and a lot of GOOD things happened yesterday!
        Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY on here is happy about Bradley getting beaten at home. I don't know where you are getting that impression, but I think people who are happy with the effort are saying this considering where this team was last year at this time. We are seeing a growing team learning how to play with the effort, unselfishness and smarts to be able to compete with any team in the country. And the fact that we were still in the game almost to the very end against one of the top 3 teams in the country speaks volumes!

I don't think there will be too many teams who will be able to say they beat Michigan this year, including BCS teams in their own conference. The fact that one of last year's worst mid-major teams gave them a big scare tells me we probably played as good a game under Geno's time here as we have. And that only bodes well for the future, as long as they keep up the same effort every game.

I believe the WL PG experiment should be over. IMO Crawford did as good a job as WL at point. WL is a bit selfish with the ball which is fine as a 2 but not as our PG.

I think that the coaching staff had a very good game plan for this game. Well done!

The fourth foul on Will was a terrible call!

Coming into this game, Stauskas was a player whom I thought would give us fits. I was even more impressed with him in person!

My impression has always been that Max Bielfeldt is a mid-major player. Today reinforced that!

I hope that Fields is as good as some people say. Otherwise, we need a JUCO point guard for next year!

I am not one for moral victories, but we are an incomplete team that competed very well with a team with a lot of talent. We gave it all and have nothing to be ashamed of. This is a game we can build on. We have a long way to go, but I liked a lot of things I saw today!
Exactly my thoughts as well. One more thing. This team is a ton better with WE in the game so he needs to find a way to not commit fouls.

I've got to disagree with you here SFP. As much as I like Crawford and thought he played well he does not possess the ability to penetrate and make things happen like Lemon does. Walt still makes a lot of mistakes but he gives us our best chance of winning. Unfortunately, there is a lot of risk and inconsistency that will come with that. Crawford DID demonstrate the ability against Michigan to be an adequate PG this year... but he's not the answer. The answer comes next year.

B4L I'd have to believe WL could give us that explosiveness at the 2 and we then could limit our TOs and perhaps get a bit more from the rest of the team as well. How many times did he try to dribble in the lane in traffic which resulted in a TO? He is not the answer for this year and if so then we'll be very very average and playing on Thursday. You can't win with a selfish PG unless you can hit the 3 and score at will.

As much as I'd like to believe this I just don't think we have a player that is ready to play starter minutes at the point yet. More importantly, head coach Ford does not either.

All we needed yesterday was one solid 3 point shooter to get us over the hump, I know Will is good but we need a guard that can spot up outside and make that shot consistently, those players will be here next season in Grier, Stephan and Tucker.
This years team has a very good chance at winning 14 to 15 games as long as they continue to play hard nosed defense , our defense is the main reason why we stayed in the game, wish we had 2 more players that could contribute off the bench as 8 guys are playing a lot of minutes.

Can you confirm that Tucker is enough of three point threat that he'll be an impact player next year as a freshman?

Unless Tucker improves substantially like Egolf has he is limited as an outside threat. His strength is as a penetrator and as a steady floor general.

And PS, Tucker will be a sophomore Gary.

Why would Tucker be a sophomore next year? I believe he will only be a freshman if he graduates next spring, and is cleared by the NCAA to attend Bradley.

I'm sorry Gary and Da Coach, I was thinking Fields not Tucker. Disregard everything I just said above. Smh.

The game was soooo much fun. I was obviously there and had an awesome time. I was by the student section sitting on the chairs at first but we got kicked out by the people who had bought the seats so we ended up going upstairs and sitting in the middleish. I thought we definitely had a chance to win the game. There were many times where shots weren't made when they could have and we had a lot of foul trouble by the biased referees. I still had hope in the last remaining minutes. I was hoping we would be able to shoot a few 3pointers and atleast have a tie and then the game would go overtime and we hopefully would have been able to make a shot and win. Oh well though. I'm just glad we lost by less than 10 points. I think that speaks volumes especially when (correct me if I'm wrong) but someone said ESPN projected us to lose by 40 points! Nevertheless, I had tons of fun and hope they keep doing better!
