The MVC has risen a little in conference RPI, but we keep seeing teams playing weak teams like Alabama A&M.

The MVC is sitting at #10 in conference RPI, but conference SOS is ranked 22nd. Over the past 8 seasons, the MVC has averaged the 8th ranked SOS, and has never been lower than 12th.-

I am a bit surprised we did not go up more than to 22nd based on some of the better teams we played this past weekend. But our conference SOS should really take off on Saturday. Maybe the toughest day of non-conference play I have ever seen with our teams taking on the likes of #3 Michigan, #5 Louisville, #25 New Mexico, Colorado St., and St. Joseph's, all NCAA Tournament teams last year except for St. Joseph's. And they are expected to make the tournament this year. Even Oral Roberts and Wisconsin-Milwaukee won't be easy!

I think we'll be ok. A lot of teams with winning records, so we'll be inflating each other's SoS in conference play up quite a bit. I do wish Evansville would either lay off the SWAC diet, or if you do feast on it, win your tossup games with the likes of Buffalo to make up for it.

..not an MVC game but of relevance....giving some evidence on how good USF really is....

South Florida played Stetson last night...and although USF won both teams shot poorly and it was very close all the way, tied multiple times...

and even a tie game until the final 3 minutes of the 2nd half, then USF pulled away given that they caught some breaks and Stetson was forced to foul...
South Florida went to the FT line 13 times in the final 2:46, compared to just 5 times in the first 37:14....Stetson was 2-1 before that loss - with their two wins being home victories over a DII and a very weak transitional DI
