It hasn't been announced yet but here are a few projections...........
I have to go with Doug McDermott again - as Creighton won 4 games (actually the Presbyterian game was 8 days ago), and beat two quality opponents in Wisconsin & Arizona State...with McDermott going for 30 against Wisconsin & 29 against ASU.
In the Jays' other two games against softies, McDermott only played 20 minutes yet still had 17 & 24
BTW -- Creighton's Ethan Wragge went 17-25 (!!) from the 3-pt arc in those four games but will barely get noticed because McDermott's hogging all the weekly awards! (
)
Drake's Ben Simons & Jordan Clarke had very good weeks, but likewise - will be overlooked because the Valley will get more press (
) if the POW release is about McDermott!
ISU's Bryant Allen (30 pts) and Tylor Brown (36 pts) both had one outstanding game but not enough to bump McD from consideration - anyway Carmichael won last week then averaged 5.5 turnovers this past week!
Indiana State's Lucas Eitel had a great game & went 7-7 (25 pts) from 3-pt range in the Syc's only game but honestly - it was against High Point - so nobody noticed
Missouri State lost both their DI games this past week - but in one of them Anthony Downing had 20 pts/8 rebs so he'll get a mention
UNI didn't break 50 pts as a team this week and lost all 3 of their games - so not much chance ..
SIU - not likely..
Wichita State - won two (DePaul & Iowa) and on one game Cleanthony Early had 25 pts/9 rebs and he had 9 rebs in the other game, too so I think he's gonna get Newcomer of the Week...
While everyone else was playing multiple games, and some high profile games this past week - Evansville played only once at Tennessee Tech.
