  • BYU on Jabari Parker

    http://espn.go.com/chicago/story/_/i...-jabari-parker

Apparently he's Mormon, but so is Manti T'eo!
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Jabari Parker says that Illinois would have still been a strong possibility had Weber still been there..
another example of a coaching change really hurting a team more than measurable

Groce > Weber as a coach? Another example of a coaching change really helping a team? Many of my Illini friends sure think so.

But Illini fans said the same things about BW after he took over and took them to the NCAA championship game. But then he slowly fell out of favor. Let's hope Groce can avoid the same fate.

Is Mike Krzyzewski in the stands?

Parker is working his way back into shape from a summer leg injury so he will be playing more limited minutes than usual. I expect he'll be somewhat slower than the speed of the game and will not look as good as advertised.

Since Duke recruit Matt Jones is playing for Desota I expect Coach K may be at the game.

EDIT: Just saw both Coach K and Wojo at this game.

I'm watchung the game on ESPN. Coach k,Izzo and BYU coach in the stands. Simeon is getting there hat handed to them .Parker not playing well at all. Best player on the floor for Simeon tonight is Pollard who is going to Dayton. Illini guards not special so far. Simeon looks to be very unorganized on the offensive end and not nearly as good defensively as the team they are playing. Very little team basketball by Simeon. Alot of one on one and poor shot selection. And to think coach smith wanted the Illinois job. Clearly outcoach tonight.

I have always thought that these Chicago powerhouse teams were long on talent and VERY short on coaching. Good players can make most coaches look good... Until they play another team with good players who are well coached.

I watched the game, and the team from Texas, Desoto HS had kids who worked hard and could score, especially the Duke recruit. Simeon looked very poorly coached with mostly 1 on 1 moves and a lot of lower percentage shots. Jabari Parker, who is coming off a foot injury, scored just 5 points.

                            one other factor -

the shuffle move that every single kid out of Chicago uses as a fake or to get a quick first step on his moves -
was not being allowed last night and the refs blew the whistle and called travelling at least 15 times on each team...by mid-2nd half..
...but the Simeon kids kept trying the move as if to say we're going to force them to allow it - but the refs didn't and kept blowing Simeon on the move...
-so in the 2nd half - they missed gobs of good opportunities and allowed a 2-pt deficit grow to double digits and a loss.......
