In a game pitting former Bradley coaches SIUE beats WIU 62-50. Both teams now 1-1.

The attendance posted for this game for Texas Pan-Am vs. Rochester, played at Eastern Michigan University, was a whopping 90!

Saint Louis was ranked in some preseason Top 25 lists, but they lost at home tonight to Santa Clara-

See. Things aren't so bad at Bradley after all. Actually, I don't think Rochester is even a D1 team.

This is exactly the kind of game the upper-tier Valley teams need to win!

I agree shaunguth. It's just real hard cheering for ISU... It feels like I'm cheering on the Green Bay Packers... and it makes me throw up a little in my mouth.

The ISU-Drexel game is on the NBCSports Network. It's Comcast cable channel 549 and 947.

ISU has a number of offensive weapons, and a lot of seniors. But the defense is poor from what I have seen so far. With 5 minutes left, Drexel leads 71-69. But Drexel has been getting a lot of good shots because of defensive confusion and overplaying by ISU. ISU still has a good chance to win this game, but they need to defend better.

Here is a surprising game- DePaul played Gardner-Webb in the Allstate Arena in the first round of the Cancun Challenge. It seemed like it should have been an easy win for DePaul, but instead, Gardner-Webb dominated and never trailed and beat DePaul 71-59

Gardner Webb also crushed Kentucky early season 2007. Don't sleep on those Runnin' Bulldogs.

wow DePaul has to win that gimme game - this is embarrassing..

                            a couple other games......

Alabama barely ekes out a win over The President's brother-in-law's team Oregon State 65-62, to go 3-0.
In that game - highly touted and top ranked juco big man, 7-footer Moussa Gueye (who shoulda gone midmajor
but was "guided" to Alabama) started his 3rd game in a row and looked terrible.
The guy is getting starts and quality minutes yet has yet to even come close on a field goal, doesn't even draw fouls and barely even grabs a rebound!
These numbers make ya think he's gonna not only lose his starting spot but his playing time as well - and perhaps even his scholarship next spring.
Time will tell -but he's a juco transfer so he doesn't have a lot of time to "develop".

Kansas' ex-BU recruit Jamari Traylor is another who may have been better of going mid-major - in 3 Kansas games just 4 ppg, 3 rpg

Northwestern edges winless Mississippi Valley State but one of the MVSU guys - Davon Usher, goes 12-18, including 7-8 from the arc and scores 35 pts, 7 reb!
This unknown 6-6 junior guard from Baltimore has faced THREE tough opponents (Northwestern, Cincy, & Ole Miss) and is averaging 22.3 ppg, and 55% on 3-pointers.

Fabyon Harris continues to impress - he had 18 last night

Valpo-Nebraska was another one of those "defense slugfests" 50-48, with ex-BU recruit Alex Rossi again going scoreless for Valpo.

Larry Eustachy again up to his unknown opponent tricks as Colorado State beats someone named Chadron State 90-53!
He's got a lot of transfers (Eikmeier, Iverson, Bejarano..)

Speaking of shoulda gone mid-major - ex-#2 rated player in the State of Illinois, Kyle Rowley who left Northwestern - is finishing up his career at St. Mary's,
but still barely sees the court...he got only 4 minutes in their win over USU, and has a career average of just 9 mpg playing time & 2 ppg.
                            he could have been a decent mid-major player - a Jordan Eglseder-type.

At Villanova - ex-BU recruit Mislav Brzoja who played only one minute last game - didn't even play last night, and still hasn't hit a basket - but he's already played so he's blown his redshirt possibility.

New Mexico State played a winless D-II and blew them out - so you'd think maybe there'd be playing time for ex-BU recruit Matej Buovac...
but no.....there's no report of injury - so this almost certainly points to Buovac redshirting this season.

Some juco numbers - ex-Manual Andrew Jordan at Lincoln College is coming on strong - 14 pts/6 rebs last night
Daniel Grieves - son of Metamora basketball coach - keeps hitting his 3's and now has his 3-pt shooting pct up to 43% against decent opponents!

Just got Daniel Grieves' stats from the last game - 17 pts, 13 rebs...people are going to start noticing
