Anyways I was on my way to write another post but your team-by-team schedule analysis saved me a lot of work

Sure Valley could finish outside the Top 12, but that would involve a very sub-par rest of non-con. If the MVC results are near the expected mean, they'll be 9 or 10 in the CRPI (depending how frisky the bottom half of the WCC will be)
No problem TAS! I know you are very well kept up to date with what's happening in college basketball. But I don't think it's anywhere near the time to write off the Valley, especially considering the teams are playing well with the schedule they have.

And even a finish outside the top 12 does not guarantee the Valley will only have one bid. But it makes things a lot easier the higher up the rankings they finish.

After the sterling '06-'07 non-con schedule that was one of the wackiest (good wacky, not bad wacky) I'd seen, we slowly drifted downwards, and Ford decided to let it bottom out last year (maybe good for the team but bad for the conference).

If we're scheduling like this in year 5, you can expect me to lead some riots about it. As is, based on his tenure at KSU, I expect top 100 non-con SoSs.
I don't think our schedule is that bad this year though. Several quality teams on it, but agreed that it's early enough in Ford's career here that we can still get away with an easier schedule until this team can prove they can win more consistently.

..perhaps....never know - but right now they're trailing Bowling Green who haven't beaten a single D-I team on their schedule yet...
if Detroit fails to come back & loses, they'll drop to 1-3 against D-I's - their only win would be over Drake

as noted elsewhere USF needed a big rally & a few breaks in the final 2 minutes against Stetson to avoid an embarrassing loss...
take away a couple of quality wins by the two teams at the top - WSU & Creighton and the rest of the Valley looks pretty paltry right now

edit -- Detroit lost to Bowling Green & hurts the conference RPI, so the only two wins between the two of them combined are the one where BG beat Detroit & the win over Drake
