  • College basketball Uniforms

Our uniform changes are very conservative compared to other schools. I like the idea of having different gear.

The trend in college basketball over the past few years has been for schools to unveil newfangled alternate uniforms during the second half of the season, in time for the conference tournaments or March Madness.

Nike is the team's current uniform provider by contract with Nike. But I hear that is likely to change next year.
Nike is the uniform maker that seems to be the most progressive with designs, and multiple variations of a team's uniforms. I am not sure other uniform makers like Adidas, etc. do as much with the multiple variations. I guess we'll see...

I'd expect Bradley basketball to be wearing Adidas when the Nike contract is up.

        Good call GtG.

I wonder if this means some actual basic athletic apparel and merchandise will be readily available for purchase now.

This was actually a rather poorly kept secret for the past year. I hope Adidas gets more creative in their future designs, because Nike is out front a bit in the area of uniform design, and they spend a ton more money funding AAU, school, and international programs.
Recruits today are much more influenced by issues like what shoe company a college is affiliated with than they used to be, and it can determine which school they commit to.

Did I read correctly though that Men's BB won't make the switch until fall of next year? So we have this season and next with Nike, then switch to adidas?

Yes, men's basketball is not due to switch until fall of 2014.

I actually like our road uniforms, but for the sake of consistency I hope we get new road unis to match our home ones.

Since the colors are the same, the entire team can switch to D. Rose's shoes.
