  • Illinois State lands 6'9" power forward

Illinois State coach Dan Muller just landed a pretty good big man out of Minnesota. Reggie Lynch is a 6'9", 226 power forward from Edina, Minnesota. Maybe a similar player to Jackie Carmichael?

    Some video-
Reggie Lynch is a 6'8" 2013 PF out of Edina High School currently playing for Minnesota Magic Elite http://mnmagicelite.com/

Looks like a great get for ISU. AS I've said on this site for 4 years,I've ALWAYS been a Carmichael fan and this guy looks like he will step in and be more then capable replacement. At least by his 2nd year.Hope we can get a couple like him with our last two rides.

interesting ..this is exactly the kind of kid that ISU has cashed in on with Carmichael - under the radar - only getting low and mid-major offers, and will probably take a few years to blossom - maybe being very good down the road...

our fan base seems oddly resistant to going after anyone who doesn't produce instantly - thus those fans would miss out on a Carmichael or an Anthony Tolliver or even a guy like BU's Jerome robinson who took a few years to become a really good player.

even as of just 2 months ago - interviews with Lynch - he said was considering going to prep school because of his grades, and that as recently as end of September - he stated he only had four offers and would decide between them (La Salle, Drake, Missouri State, &Northeastern). Nice pickup by ISU.

I hope our fan base plays absolutely no role in the players geno goes after.

Ditto--hoping we can find a similar signing surprise this year!!! Didn't Muller also get a commit from a point guard from Chicago too??

ISU will have at least four open scholarships due to departing seniors (Wilkins, Brown, Carmichael, Cousin)
but because of the coaching changeover - and it happens all the time - expect maybe one or two more kids
might seek to play elsewhere - especially after they see who Muller brings in next spring...

Thanks...looks like Muller is getting the right pieces in place to remain strong over there--hoping Geno can bring in the talent so we can end the losing streak and once again start competing with our feathered foes east of here

I think we have one of these guys in Nate Wells. I don't think we'd want 2 or 3 of them on the roster. This is why I'm hoping for a JUCO PF in the Spring.

Pretty funny at this point comparing Lynch and Wells. Just goes to show that you can just never really tell how quickly a player is going to develop. I don't think anybody expected Lynch to put on 20 pounds and be as agile as he is. Still a lot of development ahead, but leaps and bounds of where I expected him to be. He definitely did no favors to my Aces.
