  • We have an inside game???

Did I notice from the stats that we scored 41 of our 70 points from our BIGS??

When is the last time we had THAT kind of production from the low post?
I know we shouldn't be quick to assess our strength in the low post, but we may as strong as the middle-pack teams in this area.
Wells will be a good one eventually, but for this year, we have 3 very solid low-post players.
This is the one thing I was most excited about for this season - our depth of our bigs.

I didnt' hear the game, nor follow it. But I was pleased with the final stats like:

Our FT shooting at 83% (14-17)
14 Assists to only 8 Turnovers
    13 Offensive Rebounds
    60 total shots on offense
    Our bigs shot 16-25 in FG's (64%)

As I said in another thread, I would caution fans that it might be difficult to judge based on this one game. Parkside was probably the least athletic team I have seen in Carver in many years. Their tallest player was only 6'7", and for much of the game they played with nobody taller than 6'6". None of them jumped more than a couple inches off the floor. Even Walt drove right through their entire team and dunked the ball. Does anyone think that is likely to happen again this year?

It was nice hearing Geno talk about a balance of shots between guards and bigs. (1st half was too many on the guard side)
Even better was hearing Geno talk about Pickett, especially his court awareness and ability to make a great pass to an open guard. While Pickett did not get credited with any basketball assists, he had many hockey assists (the pass before the assist pass)

Geno Ford is right on the money w/ TP! NW and KD will get better every game! No SS today and he will only make us better on the boards and I do think WL will be slamming alot down the lane this yr just hopefully with a solid dunk or lay up to charge ratio and knocks down FT's! Our inside game is much improved like most of everything are we "HOME" no, still a ways to go but we keep getting better every day and stay healthy I like where the program is heading!

Sure. I'll bet that Walt drives the lane and dunks at least one more time this year.
