What ever happened to a school tradition and name? BRAVES are what we are!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it is totally stupid to let a political correct, sociallist ideoligy dictate an individuals beliefs or a schools tradition for the sake of the many. Our country is going through this same problem as I type. I do agree there are and have been offensive things to correct but a proud name such as BRAVES-- come on! Native Americans were called alot of things but in their culture the name BRAVES was a proud one. We should not lose site of our heritage.

guys the whole point of keeping the name BRAVES is to not detract from it with a gaudy mascot....

I am saying lets not confuse the new mascot with a possible nickname here.....if we got a bee mascot and used it in our phrases, and words, or even logos ppl would think we were the Bradley Bees in about 1.5 years

Still like my idea of the Centurions, but I'm OK with the Braves. A Gargoyle or "Bee" mascot (as suggested previously) would be good.

Dude - lighten up.
Guy was just expressing how he felt about justifying the name Braves.
His points were valid that it's not degrading their culture/heritage, but rather giving it a lift. So many people in this country are offended so easily.
The Native Americans would not doing themselves justice by eliminating "Brave" from their history.

Do we really need a mascot?
I'm o.k. with the way it is, and talk about a gargoyle? Not so sure of the connection to Braves. There are other enhancements to our home feel like the nice new scoreboard, and hopefully a nice new product on the court!

Well if the sentiment is that strong in favor of a mascot, then bring it on!
I don't really care if we do or don't, but if we do, it better be classy for the program and reflect the name "Brave" in some fashion.
