      New Name & Mascote??????

What ever happened to a school tradition and name? BRAVES are what we are!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it is totally stupid to let a political correct, sociallist ideoligy dictate an individuals beliefs or a schools tradition for the sake of the many. Our country is going through this same problem as I type. I do agree there are and have been offensive things to correct but a proud name such as BRAVES-- come on! Native Americans were called alot of things but in their culture the name BRAVES was a proud one. We should not lose site of our heritage.

Sorry AZ, but I am proposing the Bradley Fighting Lydia's!

The mascot would be someone dressed up as Lydia Moss Bradley sitting on a rocking chair near the student section preparing her latest quilt.

Possible cheers could be Lydia standing up and yelling:

        GET OFF MY COURT!
        Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

If we're going with "Spinsters," the mascot should look like David Axelrod.

Without limit would there be opportunity for happied creations of what the Bradley Rabbit would look like and, perhaps, how humbly proud he could be as our moniker. As far back as some will be quick to iterate the gargoyle has been a part of the Bradley campus, the rabbit has been there longer! Think of the wonderful costumes possible for just such a team mascot!!!

Although some of this is repetitive, I just wanted to encapsulate some thoughts regarding a change of the name from "Braves" to "Brave" and use of a gargoyle as a Mascot, claiming it is unique (and yes, I did fill out the survey, I just think it is useul to use this forum as we all know many relevant people view it, whether certain people care about what others think is a whole other story).
              1. A gargoyle has nothing to do with being brave or anyone who is.
              2. A gargoyle is not unique, Univ of Chicago has it, and DePaul Blue Demons and St. Louis Bilikens are similar.
              3. Why change the name when the NCAA decided years ago BU can stay the Braves, just no Native-American imagery?
              4. After all of these years, who/why a change?
              5. Attempting to tie a gargoyle to the name "Brave" will get BU laughed at.
              6. Since the logo was changed to use a shield, isn't it obvious if you change the name to "Brave," then just use a knight or warrior (Celtic, medieval, take your pick, and a coat of arms to it with multiple images or color patterns).
              7. The survey they had some folks take was obviously structured so they could create any results they wanted from it.
              8. The intro video to the survey was very leading as to what they wanted, which was not good at many levels.
