  • Slightly OT/ Basketball scandal of 1951 radio show

I ran across this Suspense radio show entitled The Mckay Basketball Scandal. It was broadcast on 9/24/1951. At the beginning the narrator claims that the story was taken from the headlines of the day with names changed to protect the innocent. Tony Curtis is the in the starring role. No clear cut Bradley reference, but this may be of some interest to some fans out there.

    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

My dad used to have us listen to these radio shows on long trips on the cassette deck! I'll have to mention it to him! Really cool possible reference
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!
