I've never seen a group of grown men bitch about being forced to watch 18-22 year old girls in spandex and tank tops run around and get sweaty
when it is put that way.... i may just show up for the volleyball game, then leave to watch my elimination game at 7:30

This is a great idea because it rewards their best fans but it also encourages NEW fans to sign up and become supporters...
"The scrimmage is free and open to Full-Court Club members as well as
season and Four-Pack ticket-holders which have not yet joined the Full-
Court Club. Plus, members of UWM's student "Panther Pack" have also
been invited. Those planning to attend are also encouraged to bring
potential Panther fans along to give them an up-close introduction to
      Milwaukee basketball."

      Apples an oranges. IMHO
I just checked the attendance figures for UWM on the NCAA site and it looks as If they have an average attendance of 4,154 people. Per that site, we have an average attendance of 7,640.

UWM is also moving their regular season games back on campus to the Klotsche Center with a seating capacity of 3,400 people!

I would be in favor of this idea if it was in addition to an event like the Red/White scrimmage. However, I can not imagine a coach being thrilled with the idea of creating another "event" of this type. I think that Bradley does a fine job of rewarding season ticket holders and boosters access to the team within NCAA guidelines. We need to find ways to be more inclusive with the community to increase the fan base.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

fyi - last year, Creighton's Bluejay Madness event was set to start after the volleyball match was over and no set start time was provided. There were no problems (although a few groans when the volleyball match went all five sets ) but every seat was still filled and they had to turn people away. I don't really see the big deal here. If the ladies are using the arena, what can you do?

As an added note - the Bluejay Madness features both the men's and women's teams...there is a scrimmage for both and a three point shooting contest made up of "teams" consisting of one male and one female...

          Thanks DJ Alum.
If we are the kind of loyal fans I think we are and are right up there with Creighton...well, behind CU and WSU anyways, the excuses should not hold us back from cramming the colliseum...or at least having a good turnout.
You gotta' believe though that following 2 difficult seasons, a red-white scrimmage will not be the talk of the town.
If the Jays had back-to-back seasons like we've had, their whopping attendance would seriously drop IMO.

No doubt and I didn't bring it up to brag about attendance, but only to point out that you guys aren't the only ones in the MVC that had a "madness" event scheduled around volleyball.

(For the record, I've always had a very high opinion of Bradley fans and enjoy talking hoops with them in STL yearly...)

don't know the identity of any of the men's basketball recruits that might be visiting this weekend...
I read where Pollard is going to Rhode Island...

but this women's basketball player is coming this weekend...

For anyone out there that is thinking about getting tickets to the Upper Iowa exibition game or the regular season game with Texas Pan American at the R.C. they have very good seats for both of these games and anyone can now purchase these tickets at the R.C. ticket office .

they sure picked a bad year to make this change...and their attendance has tanked...
The Milwaukee drought for the men's basketball team came to an end Saturday night as the Raiders shot 48 percent overall and hit 16 of 19 foul shots in defeating the Panthers 64-49 at the Klotsche Center.

It might have been popular with the students on campus to make this move - but was not popular with a lot of fans...
..but that teamed with how horrible they are playing this year (losing again last night and not even scoring 50, they're 5-20 with 14 games scoring 60 & less) -
now their attendance is about to drop under 2K

Last night they drew only 2051 - but it was noted that many of those seats were butt-less...and from the video above I owuld have thought it looked more like about 1000.

Just last year they drew an average of over 4,000, and when Jeter took over they were drawing considerbaly over 5K.

Turmoil is brewing...and the AD is taking heat as well..."The problems with Milwaukee Athletics go far beyond Rob Jeter..."

"attendance at UWM’s game against Cleveland State Thursday night at the Klotsche Center was listed at 2,017.
"I’ve got a pretty good indication even that pathetic number was padded," Belling said.
"Two thousand fans for a Division I basketball program . . . is terrible and beneath the standards of Milwaukee,"
It is amazing how far this program has fallen during the time that Geiger is here."

I'm guessing the 5-20 pretty much does it. If they were 18-7, I would think that the Klotsche Center would be the place to be.

having a game or two or a few in the on-campus arena would have avoided this turmoil -- but by moving all of the games there - they have enraged the fan base, and likely sent their recruiting back into the dark ages...
Kids like playing under the big lights - ask any high school kid who gets to play at the Civic Center or United Center!!
