Seriously? Fans should just shut the **** up, quit the b*tchin, and accept whatever they are given, and be thankful for it? Unfortunately, that condescending, screw-the-fans attitude is what we already see way too much of.

And to tell fans, who are the ones who have always supported the program by buying tickets and donating their hard-earned cash that their opinions don't matter, and to get lost if you don't like the way we're doing things is a prescription for further decline of the Bradley program (yes, things can get worse). I am sure we'll see that tomorrow night when surprisingly few people show up for an event that has always drawn thousands.

Sounds like you guys have all the qualities to be immediately hired as Assistant Athletic Directors!

Its like when someone says that they don't like Glen Beck or Limbaugh or Al Sharpton, Fox News, MSNBC, or any programming for that matter (I personally can't stand reality TV and any of the Tyler Perry shows) - and that they should all be taken off the air.

Why? Because you don't like it? Sorry, thats not a good enough reason. Don't like what is on...change the channel. Don't like that you have to watch volleyball - don't. Don't like what the BU Admin is doing - sell me your seats, because I'm sure they are better than mine.

No one is forcing you to go and all the naysayers have given ample examples of the all the better things that they could be doing.

Yes, The men's team would draw a big crowd on it's own. That's the point. I don't get why some people are getting so upset that Bradley thinks so highly of the Men's Basketball program that they are using it to draw in fans to other events. Believe it or not, the athletic department cares about all of their teams and wants to see them all succeed. It's not ALL about the men's basketball team. It might be only about the men's team to some fans, but that's not how the athletic department sees it. They want their fans supporting the Braves in all of their sports.

If there is a game five in the NLDS:

1. I go to scrimmage, DVR game and hope to not hear a score, watch it after scrimmage

2. I screw the scrimmage and just watch the game.

How would you improve it?

Saying "going back to the way it used to be" isn't an acceptable answer. It hasn't been "the way it used to be" since the mid 2000's.

Also - how would you incorporate the women's team?

I think what people are almost all asking for is something like this...
..and btw- this is precisely how it has gone for most years.....

-doors open at 5:30PM
-spaghetti or Gondolas served from 5:30-8PM
-women scrimmage at 6PM sharp and are done in 45-50 minutes
-then men take the floor at 7PM sharp and scrimmage 'til the lights go out

I think all the fans are saying is that they want to see the marquee sports program at an earlier and defined time
so they can be sure to get there with their families and see the whole thing.

It's just this whole pessimistic, "sky is falling" attitude all the time. And this time all because you may possibly have to watch 10 minutes of a volleyball game and 20 minutes of the women's scrimmage. This is America and you have every right to voice your opinion about whatever you like. But cmon', this is a very small thing.

God forbid the Athletic Department try to gather some support for the lesser sports by placing them before the basketball scrimmage. This is not a sign that the entire University is headed in the wrong direction and Bradley basketball will never be good again. But that is what some people on this board make it sound like.

Worry about recruiting and Wins/Losses. Not having to sit through 30 minutes of Volleyball/Women's basketball.

For those upset with BU's Administration for combining this event with WVB and WBB let me tell you that Wake Forest (of the mighty ACC) is holding a similar event with WVB and WBB this weekend.

I recall being told not to worry about other schools in the past.

Wake Forest has Football, I'LL TAKE IT! Just ftr, I'm actually going to go to East Peoria's football game that Friday night because if they win they're in the playoffs for the first time since I was a sophomore! RAIDERS! That and it's Senior Night. Also.... GO CARDS!

This is a bad comparison, IMO.
It is more like if you have paid for a box of Cherrios, and when you get home and open the box and pour them into your bowl, you find they have given you ground up cardboard.

Some fans have invested a lot of their time and hard earned money, and supported Bradley for many years, even through some bad seasons. To suggest that if they do not like the way some very popular and successful events have been eliminated, and others relegated to lower status that they should just go find another team to cheer for is simply wrong. I suspect there are some people at Bradley who do value feedback from the fans, even if some here don't.

And ftr, I am not the one who started this thread, and I will be at the Red-White scrimmage whatever time it is. But there are a lot of people who are not happy, and many of them, like the person who started this thread, are solid long-time supporters of Bradley basketball. Just maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea sometimes to listen to them.



And since you are the one recommending fans just stay away if they don't like what they are getting, then maybe you should follow your own advice-

I'll bet that the WBB team will love your fine comparison of them to "ground up cardboard" (filler, something worthless to be thrown away). I'm sure they'll be thrilled.

I didn't suggest they find another team to cheer for...I simply said that they didn't have to attend.

Don't you think your criticism would go a lot farther if you didn't gripe about the situation (that can't be changed now), attend, and then reach out personally to these people with your suggestions. "Hello BU Admins, my name is Da Coach. I attended Cram the Coliseum and had a great time. I did however think this could be done to improve the event." Probably go a lot further than suggesting that the event is watered down, bush league, a move towards becoming D2, unimportant, or that we are turning into Chicago State. I'd also suggest not mocking the job the Assistant ADs are doing in a thread that you hope they would read.

You are exactly right...but its too much fun watching you guys get all bent out of shape. I think its because deep down, you know which of the posters here are being rational and which ones are butt hurt that they don't get their own way.
