Smart kids are more likely to make their choices based on many factors. I think Alec made a great choice. Valpo is poised to be "the next Butler" of the Horizon.

but haven't we been told by several people all along that the high major offers were already coming and that he'd end up at a BCS school?
        so what happened...
can anyone tell me what's up lately at Valparaiso - there's been unprecedented roster turnover!!
In fact - can anyone reading this name even one player who has played for Valpo in the past 5 years?
The only ones many might recall were known for transferring out of Valpo - Harris, Edwards, Vucic, Bryan Bouchie, Brandon Wood...
In fact, a brief look at Valpo's roster is pretty amazing - much of last year's expected returning production just transferred out....(Harris, Edwards, Vucic)
and almost everything they have left just transferred in...they have seven D-I transfers! (Lavonte Dority-S. Florida, Bobby Capobianco-Indiana, Will Bogan-Ole Miss, Alex Rossi-Cal...etc...)

Advice from a one year Valpo resident:

Poor kid. Best of luck to you!
          Good luck with ruddy CORE....
The basketball player I knew was over in Brandt but if you end up in Lankenau North you're a brother! Count on smallish dorms (though I don't know if it's different for B-Ball players)
AND If you try one thing in Valpo make it Gelsomo's! Strongbow Inn is supposed to be nice as well. Don Qixote is the only Authentic Spanish restaurant in Indiana.
Personally I'd have chosen BC, and that's coming from a Notre Dame fan!

          Quick request:
Say hi to the big bald manager over at B-Dubs if he's still there, great guy, UF Fan.

I wonder if he even reads the boards if he will remember that in a year XD
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Be honest, I went there last year and I still don't know any of the players. Except this really big guy....

yes- they do have a couple big guys - one from Canarias Basketball Academy in the Canary Islands - but we have seen how so many others from there have worked out,
and they have a big guy from Australia - and he spent 2 years at the same Aussie Academy that this guy did who lost a year of eligibility because of it...

It's good to see kids who are smart enough to recognize what they are versus what they are not at such a young age. If he's as good as advertised he should have a very good career and get a good education at the same time. I suspect he was wise enough to understand which school offered him the most opportunity for success. I wish him well.

That's a blow for ISU. He was one of the top targets (if not THE top target) for their 2013 class. I'll bet they still go after him strong until signing day.

Valpo? Really? Ouch! Whenever I think of Valpo, I think of alpo the dog food because Valpo is almost always dogfood in the foodchain of national college hoops. Whatever.

Loyola looks like they are going to have something to say about that.

Rumor has it that Chin was shocked BU was not on Peters

As always, I'll trust the judgement of an experienced head coach who understands the type of player he wants who fits his system over a "green" assistant who is still unfamilar with that system. The head coach will always trump those who are below him.

                              I wish Alec Peters well.........but.........

he never was a Bradley recruit, got way more talk on this board than just about anyone ever has who was never even on BU's radar...
and he didn't commit to BU nor anyone else in the Valley and likely won't ever even play against Bradley given how infrequently we face Valpo.
So -- I guess I am ready to move on and talk about players and recruits who still have relevancy to us......

Carter Evans - reportedly deciding between three offers...one of which is Northern State (a DII) and San Jose State & BU, and apparently not too interested in the New Hampshire or Blue Hose offer
