I'm starting to think that giving up double digit offensive rebounding is going to be the norm. How do Crouch, Ruffin, JJ and Adams not get one defensive rebound? Even the out of bounds got three for BU.

Zach had a field day, as this team did not defend the paint very well.
The difference clearly was not having POB.
If BU had just one more effective offensive player in the paint, it's a while different game, as Tennessee Tech did defend the guards well.
Crouch continues his hot hand and was 3-4 from beyond the arc.
We absolutely have to get the kid more shots.
      Crouch is 29-45 from 3point, .644.
He could miss his next six and still lead the Valley.
He could miss his next 13 and still be at 50%
We have to get him more good looks.

The offense is fine...BU has proven they can score...

Our defense was very poor last night...I think this will get better as the year goes on....

Zach has got to stay away from foul trouble this year. We have absolutely no inside game without him. We have got to get more contribution from Sam S. and especially Matt S.

REBOUND...for goodness sakes man...please REBOUND!! We cannot continue to get outrebounded every game. I think this is BU's biggest problem right now. Zach can't grab all of them. Everyone else has to make this a priority in their game.

As with most undersized teams.. BU must have great team rebounding efforts...

Guards should have 2-3 apiece or we are going to have more games like last night...

BUt 5-2 is a good start, let's not jump off the bridges when most thought this would be a .500 team. How you react to situations presented to you reveals character-

            Let's see how BU does....

              Ket so Far

I like this team as they are fun to watch (wish we had more size) but so far the key to winning has been play bad teams at home (or on a neutral floor)! There are not many bad teams in the Valley which makes me wonder how we will do at home against good teams? I am sticking with my prediction of a .500 record and I would be happy with that cosidering our lack of size. Oh, that happiness includes staying out of the play in game!

You're right Houston. I remember we could never win at Murray State. Everybody else could, but we couldn't.

Honestly, I don't know what to think. When you think about it, the top teams in the Valley such as Wichita State and even SIU would not have lost this game. If BU wants to make its case to move up from the preseason standings, games like this must be averted. Valley road games are going to be much tougher, and this team needs to learn how to play on the road.

Agree they need to learn how to win on road.. but to move up from preseason picks won't take much as they were picked 8th!

This game does not concern me at all. I don't know why everyone is so shocked and upset. I'm completely over this. WE CANNOT WIN ON THE ROAD. Its a fact that we have to get used to. We went to the sweet 16 last year beating the likes of Kansas and Pitt, and we couldn't even beat Evansville, Indy St., or Butler on the road last year. I'm telling you they need a psychologist in there to get it out of their head that they are on the road. Maybe blindfolds, hypnotism, something. I just don't know?

                          Road Games

I can take losses, but when I know this team has a lot of potential and talent, it's bitter when this team plays the way it did last night.

We know they can shoot. We know they can play great defense. For a great majority of the game against Illinois, they played well against a significantly more hostile crowd.

However, against this Tenn. Tech 'crowd,' something got into the Braves' heads. Like some, I wonder how much is a product of losing in the Illinois game. They had 5 fantastic wins (albeit against weaker opponents), and maybe the loss against U of I deflated their confidence.

I agree with everyone's analysis of what the Braves lacked in this game (defense, etc.). Though I think an more important thing missing is the players having fun. That 'must win' mentality is probably psyching them out. They just need to relax and play.
