Just heard Chin is en route to Marquette to interview for their assistant job opening. No way to compete with that. Hard to believe we are in the running with this guy. Cross your fingers
I guess we'll see if most attractive assistant job in Illinois can compete with a job in Wisconsin.
BTW, I don't see any evidence in linked article that Groce offered Coleman the job. Interviewed but no mention of offer.

Oops. Hope I wasn't premature in welcoming "The Chin".

back in June John Groce made a big push to land Chin at Illinois but he reportedly turned down what was reported as a very attractive offer from U of I to stay at Nebraska - thus Illinois went with Paris Parham. http://journalstar.com/sports/husker...2ab130fcc.html
Where did you see he turned down Illinois? I am only seeing (in this article) that he was a candidate, with no mention of "a very attractive offer" or turning them down...
Ronald "Chin" Coleman appears to be leaving Nebraska to take a job with Bradley. If Coleman leaves, Nebraska loses a connection to Chicago AAU programs and a source of talent that Nebraska has never been able to tap before.
Marquette just robbed Isaac Chew from Illinois and nabbed Jerry Wainwright as their DBO...
It's very unlikely Chin would be the "lead assistant" at Marquette - but if given a solid offer it might be hard for BU to compete.
Marquette has ALWAYS heavily recruited Chicago - and Isaac Chew is the Chicago native who already kinda has the Lead-Chicago-Recruiter spot locked up.
BTW -- here's something funny - the guy in the Matrquette SID's officer who was responsible for the bio for Isaac Chew - looks as if he just copied and pasted the bio off the Illinois site then forgot to make the necessary changes...
His MARQUETTE bio says this... "Chew arrives on campus from the University of Illinois, where he joined first-
year head coach John Groce's staff in mid-April. Chew spent the 2011-12
campaign under head coach Frank Haith at Missouri.."
...then much of the rest of the entire bio is word-for-word exactly as it was on the Illini site...
No it won't; Nebraska doesn't have any openings to give him. Chin was Miles top assistant at Colorado St. If Miles wanted to make him an assistant at Nebraska, he would have done so by now.
