BU hires assistant - Ronald "Chin" Coleman

despite Coleman being well connected in Chicago - his position at Nebraska was as a lower level coaching assistant (in charge of player development) and thus he wasn't able to go off campus to recruit anyway -
My guess is that the spot at Bradley - like the spot for Geno in 2011 - was sweetened as much as necessary to seal the deal.
Coleman is the guy who was visiting Bradley's campus this last week...

Ronald "Chin" Coleman from Huskers website:

As great of a guy as Willie is and has been for the program, this feels like an upgrade from a recruiting standpoint. Time will tell, but definitely a solid hire for Geno.#DunkOnYou

I see they referred to it as the "lead assistant" position in the article. That would surprise me.

Nebraska press is saying Coleman, if hired at Bradley - could be announced as soon as Friday,
and that he would earn close to $115,000.......
NOTE-- nothing official yet - still things to happen before any announcement - and still no guarantee it will happen...but I like this hire if it happens!

I would be surprised if he was the lead assistant because Greg Graham has about 30 years more experience in coaching at the NCAA level.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was the lead recruiter.
I love the hire though.

back in June John Groce made a big push to land Chin at Illinois but he reportedly turned down what was reported as a very attractive offer from U of I to stay at Nebraska - thus Illinois went with Paris Parham.

This is a great hire for Bradley. Chin is a homerun candidate. But, he won't be the lead assistant. He will be a key recruiter in Illinois and specifically in Chicago. Greg Graham has 8 years of HC experience and 30 years of coaching experience and Jaden Uken is going into his 5th season on Coach Ford's staff and is as close to Coach Ford as anyone at Bradley. By what I have heard, Coach Ford doesn't have "lead assistants". Each guy has different responsibilities. There is no Associate HC or any close coming down the pike.
